Improved wars

Make wars have strategic missions. First, you can officially join a war by signing up to fight for the faction at a mission board with said factions representative. Add strategic areas that are needed to get stronger ships and economy boost or just give a minor faction more influence (so they can win said war). Add missions where lets say you go to a mining outpost and meet up with some attack ships to raid said outposts for supplies and to undermine that faction. Also add something like you can escort dropships to land and board a station instead of the main system's station just being handed over to the faction with the most influence. I do like the new conflict zones very much and it is GREAT work, but I feel like wars should be something other then wartime deliveries and throwing ships at a specific point in space with no strategic value until one side chickens out. Thanks frontier :)

Really love the suggestion of choosing a faction system-wide — would be a real quality of life improvement over the faction picker in each conflict zone.

It would be great if attacking an defending stations and surface installations were more like capital ship battles - attacking faction attempts to knock out all the turrets, up to and including the ones in the docking bay, and then land a certain number of ships. Defending faction attempts to prevent this, and could use repair limpets or other such mechanisms to restore turret functionality.

I also think attacking factions should have dockable megaships in the system to resupply their side, and the defenders can hinder an attack by knocking out these megaships.

The real sticking point with any of these suggestions that give the conflict states more of a sense of narrative, though, is the instancing structure. Hard to have a meaningful raid on a station or installation if different instances exist with potentially opposite outcomes. But even if the events of a station battle as outlined above couldn’t be conclusive for the purpose of BGS changes, it would give battles much more of a sense of occasion and purpose.
