After some hours spent in the game I am experiencing a complete lack of carriers inside the game.
The PowerPlay environment is an illusion: we dont change anything meaningful inside the bubble and probably if all the players leave the bubble nothing occurs.
My suggestment is:
- create different careers (military, civil, commercial etc).
For example:
* if I achieve a military grade I can call ships in my help to defend a sector or do a war.
* if I follow a commercial career I can control a spaceport for example, from a very small outpost to a big spaceport
* if I follow a civil career I can become the "sheriff" of a system, with the duty to defend it from pirates and so on
- make PowerPlay serious and meaningful
At the moment anything you do inside the bubble is really microscopic (3-4 preparation system, expansion attempt and one only thing is sure: every phase has a tumoil). The feeling is: the PCs play inside an environment that dont change anything. The merits are impossible to be maintained: every turn they are half down and if a player leaves the game a while they are ....cancelled
The game has strong "bones" but without aims and roleplay becomes boring
