Yeah its different for sure. I'm surprised so many people are upset with how 'arcade' it feels - wasn't Wing Commander very similar and no less fun for it?
 
Oh no, I think this is going to be one of those never ending arguments.

I still can't get started with AC though, it honestly reminds me of the prototypes I saw in development ,during my short time working at Codemasters, that didn't have a player control system. Which is exactly what it is, but so many people are saying it's fine the way it is - I'm baffled.
 
I'm not so sure. The flight model in Star Citizen, as it is right now, is glidey with healthy doses of momentum buildup & release, sort of like anti-lock breaks or engine stutter in your car. I don't think the WC games had it (if this is supposed to be an improvement I'm not sure).

Also, we were told that it wouldn't be like Freelancer, and that's exactly what we've ended up with.
