Just out of curiosity, did you have motivation to play before 2.1?
Did you have a need to drive around and hoover up 1000s of magic materials for your slot machine gambling, before 2.1?......
No. But you don't need to do that after 2.1 as well. It's just an option.
PS To clarify:
I own Horizons but didn't perform a single upgrade since launch (outside of beta...). There are so many great new features that I just don't care about the Engineers, they improved almost every part of the game, why should I lose motivation to play just because I am not interested in a singele optional feature?

Can't say i had high motivation to play before patch but i thought 2.1 would ignite my desire to play and it could but storage...
Serious question: Magic Bag storage like the materials, or depot storage for commodities? If so, would you be able to access the store from anywhere, or would you need to go to one specified location to pick up your shinies to take to the Tinkers?
Fair point, if the Engineers are the only thing you are interested in it's kind of pointless to play without storage.
More quality of life improvements please! Visible animated populations in stations and more variety of ATC voices and content.
