Not to mention the work on the new Zoo Tycoon, pretty impressive character animation there too.
The developers are thinking about all that kind of stuff, but I don't think anything has been decided yet. I would expect them to decide the order and content for expansions after the main game goes live.

I was just wrapping that idea around my mind, this morning on the to... having breakfast.
I read this great EDGE magazine interview to Frontier about the adventure part of The Outsider and felt a jolt at the heart.
I know I'm crazy, but... just imagine. All that work... It can still be used.
I'm ready to wait for TWO years if that's done to that level.
Can you see it?

No, your not alone...there is a reason why I basically lived in the KS comment thread a year ago...ever since I played Frontier way back I have been waiting for someone to take the potential of that game and with current technology push it as far as possible. Up until now there has been no takers (which I find very strange). Thankfully we are soon there! Let's just hope all the potential doesn't get wasted, but so far it's looking good!
(Ok, there was a little scare back when the first "travel proposal" was put on the table, but they fixed that.

I hope we get alot of customization for avatars in the game. And not only more varied attire for ourselves but also the NPCs we will be getting as crew throughout the game.
I would really like for there to be a 3 faction fashion style throughout human controlled space. The Empire would of course wear more ostentatious styles, The Federation with a more rigid and militaristic sense of style. The Alliance might be more functional and humble and sport the commoner colonial look.
I just think it might break immersion if all the NPCs looked the same no matter which part of space you found yourself in. Players of course would have a wide assortment to choose from.

Why no one did it before? No one but Mr. David Braben could have possibly pulled this off.
Who else had the vision, the power and the technical knowledge to do the first Elite*?
