In Game - Global Chat Overlay - Tutorial

Greetings Elite players.

One of the biggest issues in Elite Dangerous that many of us find is the lack of in game chat channels. To circumvent this, we have a created a solution and now have a global chat channel which can be used in game whilst flying. See screen shot.

In order to join the channel, follow the instructions in the video below. Note, you need to switch your game to borderless from the graphics settings in game.

IMPORTANT : To join the elite global channel, when the video says join the channel #EliteRP, change that to #EliteDangerous

Also, if you just want to join the channel without the game overlay, say from work or something, you can join via web browser here:

I only play solo but that's a cool and easy solution, thanks for sharing!

Watching your video gave me the idea for a new feature in my tool =)

This might also be useful in combination with your solution...

I have extended the "Change DisplayStyle" action in my VoiceMacro app:
Besides maximize/minimize/normal (or restore) any window now you can also set the transparency and set/unset the window's "TopMost" attribute

By creating a simple voice or button triggered "Toggle On/Off" macro you can switch the window on and off (full or near full transparency and whatever you like as default transparency)
