In game notepad - for VR users. That screen between the pilot's legs.

That nice looking little screen positioned between your legs in game? You know, the one non-VR users can't possibly see?

That would make a lovely place for notes. Think about it. With a VR headset on, we really don't have a functional means of looking at any other screen. How about letting us turn that little guy on and type in our own custom notes?

Ideally you could make it a web browser, like some other games we wont mention have built into the game.

This way the community would be free to create custom web portals for use in game, within the various VR platforms. The resolution would be limited, of course, however it would be immensely useful for everyone - including the non-VR users if you make a hotkey to look down at it.

We don't need much, just a functional screen that can handle directional input like the other UIs, but allows access to an external site. It could very easily be limited to only basic HTML and CSS, to prevent any kind of exploitation as well. Just make it able to connect to a local address as well of course, with a simple bookmark system. Even if it's only 5 book marks in tabs across the top of the screen.

Gonna bump this one up there.

This is the only thing keeping me from using my DK2 for ED. There is a wealth of information that simply needs to be accessible without a secondary screen or alt-tabbing (which let's face it, totally sucks even when you are just playing on a monitor).

I hope they aggregate these 'need for notepad/bookmark features' requests and weigh their need according to percentage of players in VR.

The thing about VR is - missing features like this make the VR experience VERY difficult, which slows it's adoption rate. Every person I show E:D VR wants to buy in, but then we go over the negatives and...this one is a major bummer.

Like I’ve said in a few posts the middle console is a missed opportunity, I want it to be used like a proper fighters info panel. The inclusion of a note pad/ scratch pad would be great, as I would have to open notepad++ and keep taking off my headset.

Between the legs? How about being able to grab it and place it whereever the heck you want it, since in VR, that's so doable. How about, since most VR systems have microphones, add voice commands too.

Hopefully seeing the increase of folks in NMS, which I'm thinking is at least partially, maybe largely, due to it's implemenation of VR, will maybe nudge FDev a bit in this area. There are some problems in NMS's VR, and they're missing a VR keyboard just like ED, but the way you can use menu's etc shows their direction which is pretty good. That being said, Elite in VR is already is a fantastic experience but seeing NMS, makes me want more more more.

As a Vive owner, personally I'd like this aforementioned 'between the legs ui' to have extra tabs in order to accommodate:

1. A picture viewer. (So I can view my personalised controller button assignments).
2. A VR virtual keyboard input. Even if it's just a cursor move input type, like the xbox.
3. A media player/browser.
4. 'The holy grail'. Quick controller button assignment without having to go into options & scroll through all those settings.
2D players will never know the pain of the HMD reset!
