I'm pretty new to Elite, I was too young to play the first games properly but this one has hit a cord and I'm really enjoying it.
But, I do feel that (and I know its a "Simulator") it needs more added to help us novices, give us some direction, or a heads up about events happening
Take the battle at Lugh.
I only found out about this from a forum I regularly visit, I then make my way there and take part in said war, only to find out from another website (a Wiki) that I actually have to register at the space port, so all the hundreds of thousands of Bonds I've cashed in, have not done anything except make me that little richer.
Now if there were some splash screen or news feature that actually popped up to bring this to my attention, I would of really appreciated the information, rather then stumble upon int by chance and potentially miss the whole event.
