In it for the long haul...

I really like to fly spaceships in space. I like doing my own thing when I want to and what I want to. I like everything under the suns in the galaxy:

Mining
Cargo
Boom Info missions
Listening Post needs taking out
Assassinations
Wetwork
Go Fetch missions
Exploration
Passenger transport and/or sight seeing
Just flying to screw around

However the one thing I would love to see, and I know there have been thousands of "I want X in ED!", but the one thing I would love to see is the long range missions. Hey, passengers want to move out to Colonia or the Sirius Corp needs this cargo to go 400 lys over there to that system. I have seen many passenger sight seeing missions to Colonia or elsewhere but no transport.

I know it's easy to get bogged down in negativity about this and that and I realize that some people have legitimate grudges about some things. It's their right to be upset about things. I know I didn't enjoy PP much... and I really wanted to. I really did try. But this could be something to really open up the game. Can you imagine passengers reacting to a Thargoid flyby? "Uh, Purser to state room 9, please. Bring a mop"

Anyway, just a thought.
Fly safe all.

Last time they tried long range missions their calcs meant the payouts ballooned to ridiculous proportions. But since the mining boom I guess they could just put them back now. :p

I thought the 1.4 in-bubble long range missions were great. But they were also unbalanced in some places. Nothing like as much as we have now though (in terms of earning potential), maybe they could be brought back now :)

I like the idea personally. The rewards could be an easy fix though. I'd go a long way if the reward was a guaranteed amount of 10 improvised components or pharmaceutical isolators.
