Horizons In new 2.1 I keep getting "Discovered New data" or similar When scanning in Combat

Hi. Can anybody explain what the new messages I keep getting on my HUD are? Since the 2.1 engineers update, when I go into any combat situation I will often get a message in blue telling me that something or other has been detected? (Field anomaly, Power distribution data etc. etc.). Is this something to do with the engineers mods that some of the AI have, or is it something else?

Yup, it's data used when asking engineers to modify stuff for you, it's a good thing you're getting it

OH! So it stays recorded in your computers and they ask for it/get it when you visit them?

Yeah, you can see what you have in the inventory->data (right panel).
