In Odyssey it is necessary to promote roleplay

Odyssey is a great expansion. All this, and seen a very cold expansion towards what it is to invite the player to be more social.

Usually from the beginning of the game, the huge galactic distances make it possible to gather with friends to play together in a waiting process.
I think this is where more Odyssey should work because while it is true that it provides great mission content, the waits are eternal.
We need to add mechanisms that provide interactions between players and expressions of avatars, so that we can make real use of waiting sales.

What makes mmorpg games successful is the invitation to interact with other players and here the truth Odyssey fails

These games are not new and have been running other games for many years. As an example of how far we can go, we would have GTA Role Play, where players can do any kind of performance and generate the most interesting stories and plots.

I’m talking about adding expressions, moods that alter the character’s natural movement, the ability to grab or consume products, share them, or even lag behind instead of a mini-game.

The mechanics exist and would surely make sense in the interior rooms giving more play and making the game more friendly and comfortable, encouraging players to continue and get to know each other, in less than waiting or spending a lot of time x can do nothing more than waiting.

It has to solve the problem of: and what do we do while we are not on a mission and not piloting?

Because this is where the game shows us that I don’t have much experience as an enveloping avatar, so it should be a daily place.

If I’m on a facci and managing our base, what can I do on a daily basis within it?

How can I kill time interactively with the environment and socially?
IF this lack of content is managed Odisey could end up being guaranteed as a bestseller.

Edition for a better explanation of the proposal.

Add the possibility of gesturing, making animations and an exchange even the possibility of stealing the items that our character carries.

Yeah that will go down well, not allowed guns in social areas but thieves? Sure, wonder where that stuff went you just collected to do your weapon upgrade? It's them dozens of thieves hanging around in the social area, the easiest way to get the stuff is just to steal it from other players who have spent the time collecting it! Hey if you are allowed to steal stuff every CMDR should automatically have kill rights and a bounty on you.

Good luck on catching me in solo and pg. :)

It is just a brainstorming, likewise, the robbery mechanism could be introduced in pirate and anarchist stations and blocked or punished in systems with government or state.

Also to regulate that all the idiots do not get into the same station, such as being welcome or being an ally of the pirate or anarchist faction to be able to enter warehouses or taverns without being shot.

PD
You have to learn to play in the open, if they kill you, improve, it is not so difficult to escape from a pirate.

No one needs to learn to play in open if they do not want to. Being robbed in a supposedly safe social area would certainly make me not want to.
Other players are a bother more often than they are fun. Why would I want to git gud to hang with annoyances?

That said, the social areas could be made cross play and open, (with an opt out of course), even if you are playing in solo/pg or on a different platform. It would allow people to meet up even if they were in different modes or platforms.

nobody needs to git good unless your an ego monster, its a game, just enjoy what you do and dont get pushed into being cannon fodder, leave that to the ego monsters who wanna do that to each other to feed their nightly ego's.

Things like ordering a coffee or 2 minigames to challenge ourselves with the players at the station or base, as well as expressions.

In a way the suggestion comes after discovering what the MODS community has accomplished with GTAV Roleplay.

If you want to be a best seller, complement the game with improvements that encourage roleplay beyond hitting shots in a distant war.

Add the possibility of gesturing, making animations
This, and proximity voicechat (for folks opted in).

It is very good that they have spread and there really is a variety of missions, but the thing is, with how vast the universe is, by the rule you always have to wait until your friends arrive to play and do missions together. This is where I say that you must act, you can do a boring wait with nothing more than to see npg or add mechanics and objects that invite players to interact with each other. I think this concept of gameplay is what makes mmorpgs work.

Everyone shooting you down for the last 10 words in your post, everything except that sounds great.

Being able to RP in the social hubs with emotes and interactions would add a huge amount of fun. We have a large area full of opportunity for this and in alpha we were able to... crouch and walk around... Yeah it's not great. I guess we'll see what we're actually getting when it launches this week.

Having my stuff able to be stolen in such a place, where I have no way of defending myself though, I don't think it would fit in this particular area.

What I meant by that example was to add interactivity between the players, in no case did I mean that if or if they could rob you for no reason.

The same level on interactivity we have in ED (in ship) where people can shoot you for no reason?
(In space or above Felicity's base - even in the very second the docking clamps disengaged, but your ship explodes instead of taking off)

There are many more game mechanics that invite you to interact socially and that go far beyond shooting

OP,

I agree, without a fully fleshed out story or history of the Elite Dangerous world, the beautiful graphics are cold and sterile.

Imagine going to a station and being greeted by Marlinist refugees offering missions to help them build new homes. Or perhaps a destitute pilot that is desperate to get back to fighting Thargoids but cant because he needs a new fsd, etc. Yes, there are already npcs offering missions, but if missions could be relevant according to current galnet updates, it would give an urgency and more dynamic feel to the universe.

There is only so much that player groups can do by themselves to make a universe alive.

Because this is where the game shows us that you don't have much experience as an enveloping avatar so it should be a daily place.

Should I wait for friends to connect or come eat my snot?

1) Anything you want, you can roleplay as much as you want, I don't care what you do.

2) Roleplay means exactly that "roleplay". If you actually steal something from someone you aren't "roleplaying" a thief, you are actually being a thief.

From many years playing D&D I understand that when I roleplay as a Paladin smacking the thief around the back of the head for stealing from the Priest I don't actually smack the player who is roleplaying the rogue around the head because that's not roleplaying, likewise the thief doesn't actually steal anything from the player playing the priest because that would be, you know, actual thievery! So roleplay all you want about whatever you want, the moment you actually secretely take something from another player you are no longer roleplaying a thief, you are actually a thief.

And no you don't get to tell everyone they must play in Open in the social areas so you can steal from them. The entire point of the social areas is they are safe areas where everyone can go, people who like and play in open, people who don't play in open because gankers, all you are trying to do is move the ganking into the social areas and that will just result in everyone who doesn't fly ships in open not going into the social areas in open as well. And you know what, you can't make them!

I edited the initial post, I hope you understand better that I am not asking to steal wallets
