In safe hands missions? (Cant complete need help)

So I got this mission where I have to hold data until I'm contacted
I flew to the system, avoided some pirates, flew around, but there is nothing there....
it says they will contact me and meet me in space, but where?
I checked my map over and over but there were no special points of interest....

This mission is essentially a 'you will be interdicted relentlessly for x hours, then quickly go to the system in the description when told to and meet the contact named (follow wake), then return to original system for the profit'.

You do NOT go to the system named in the mission as your first stop. No one will be there and it's not a bug. Just go about your business normally and wait for the blue triangle "mission updated" then drop everything and go the system named in the mission (ie where you presumably went to at the start).

Two things to be aware of - if the mission 'completes' while you are logged off it can fail (makes sense - you are being paid to fight off hordes of bad guys rather than to go to bed). Also above 150k payout they send some condas at you - not quite the HazRes ferocity but still enough to annihilate you if you're in a trade geared ship.

So accept this mission when you know you'll be playing for a good few hours and during that time, doing other combat missions (or trading, but in a hybrid geared Conda / Cutter / Python).

Well I was in the system for all alone, hunting bounties with my viper, then I had "missions update", but that's it, I have no idea where to go there are no marks or anything

it is too late yes but I did checked the missions info, the location was "space", nothing there, that is why I came here, there were no marks or anything.
At one point there was a blue mark over a "weak signal source", I slowed and encountered 3 federal ships and 1 wanted ship, the wanted ship died in like 2 seconds, there was nothing there
