In-Ship Camera Surveillance and Tracking

Basically, a screen/window that you can bring up in your ship's HUD when you want it, which gives directional views around the outside of your ship, looking outwards.
There would be six fixed camera views to rotate through, positioned centrally, and looking up, down, port, starboard, forward, and aft.

This could be useful for gauging tight spaces, having visibility your cockpit denies you, and assessing landing/docking approaches with greater accuracy.

Additionally, when you target a ship or location and you bring up the surveillance screen, you can trigger it to dynamically track the targeted object as you or it move around. It should also indicate the direction of the targeted object in relation to your ship, so you know which direction the camera is facing, allowing you to keep your bearings.

This would be a fun feature for those who might prefer to fly/fight by sight rather than radar/compass. It could also prove to be more engaging as you have full awareness and vision of a ship flying past you to line up behind you, or try to get above you, for example.

For the fixed camera views, zoom and rotate functions from each camera position would be an additional aspect that may come in handy for planet-side exploration, and make exploration more viable in ships that don't have the best cockpit visibility.

The screen should also work with night vision.
