In system target selection no good for explorers

If you use the in system select icon, you lose your galaxy map route. Which makes the in system select only good for trade and bounty hunting. The people who could benefit the most will find it the most frustrating.

I add my voice to this issue. If you select a destination in the system map, you lose your galactic map route.

Although it occurred to me that this *might* be on purpose, as a king of penalty for using this feature. After all, it does seem to be a dumbing down of navigation within the local system.

You can use the drop down menu and select a body. When you go to the system map the body will have the cursor on the top of the image. You'll still have the galactic route saved. But I agree, it's unpractical.

Post a bug in the bug forum, if there isn't one there already.

Its not a bug. Michael has stated its working as intended. I get that to mean that selecting a specific object in a system is effectively selecting a whole new destination - hence why the initial destination and route it wiped. In hindsight it was probably never meant to be a dumbed down shortcut allowing players to make a 1-click beeline to the high-value objects whilst passing through an unexplored and unsurveyed system. Still, I'm sure FD will "rethink" it soon enough and give the vocals what they want.

You can bind a key to your next galactic route target in options controls.

Edit: ok I got it, lost in System Map, yes.
