Hi all,
I've been looking through the Design Discussion Archive, and the In system travel poll caught my eye.
While searching the forums, I couldn't see the option I had in mind, so here it goes.
It could be an option to use something similar to what Freelancer used. For populated systems, there were things called "trade lanes", which allowed you to sort of "visually warp" to the destination.
Perhaps like a space catapult, which launches you to a fixed destination, and you see space fly by at ludicrous speeds.
I would see this implemented next to the option to fly in cruise mode, but then increase the travel time (Sol-Pluto = 25 - 30 min), so you can give the impression that space is huge.
I might be late to the party on this though...
What do you guys think? Good idea/bad idea?
