... which I'm generally happily playing (although I'm not too far in), I've got to a point where I'm looking for a shrine to the 'West' of a waterfall. In a side-scrolling platformer, exactly which way is west?!

Other than that, have been pretty impressed with the game. Can feel a little directionless (well, I know I should be going 'west', I sure hope that the game isn't aligned on a north-south plane or it'll be tricky :rolleyes:) at times, and the gusting response is a little inconsistent (sometimes I can draw a straight line straight through Toku, and it shows up on the screen as such, and nothing happens, other times I can draw a curvy line off to one side and he gusts just fine), but the art style, level design (from what I've seen so far) and the general gameplay easily make up for it.

But yeah, if anyone is able to suggest which way is west, I'd greatly appreciate it :).

Sweet - thanks - you were spot on, going left was the trick (although does that mean going up is North? :p). Played a bit further in today, am really impressed by what you've put together with Lost Winds. It can be a little confusing at first where you're supposed to be going (when I exited the first cave, I spent a lot of time wandering around before I stumbled across the next plot point), but apart from that, it's been a very sharp, cohesive, beautiful and enjoyable process.

Although, I'm guessing you probably already knew that by now ;). Looking forward to playing LW2 down the track (hopefully on PS3, but on the Wii if it doesn't come out there), and hope that LW2 isn't the end of the series :D.

Nice one :). The more I play of Lost Winds, the better it gets - and hey, you're the makers of Elite - I didn't know that before I picked up LW, but Elite is a true classic (although I will admit it's been a _long_ time since I last played it!)

I'm stuck going west. I've went as far left as I can I'm stuck where there's a waterfall in the background and u fly up to left top ledge and pull the chain. Then go down and get item. The path u came is now closed and I can't seem to fly high enough to gt on the ledge top right. I've even started all over again to see if maybe I missed something and yet I end up here again stuck. Pls help!

It sounds like you're at Wither Falls, I've copied some information below that should help you progress:

Locating the second shrine
( 8 - Wither Falls )
You will now have reached the start of Wither falls (8)
Enemy alert : Watch out for Squawks. Glorbs are able to use their surroundings to augment their appearance. Squawks are Glorbs that have used plant life to pretend that they are birds. Watch out of a Squawk's dive attack.
Move left out of this area taking care to not let the squawks hurt Toku.
( 9 – Wither Falls West )
There is a pressure platform at the bottom of this area that opens the door to the shrine room.
Take the large rock at the top of the level and move it to the lower part of the level. (if you wish to collect the Melodia Idol, then use the rock on the first pressure platform)
Proceed right with the rock until you reach an overgrown area near to a fire torch. Gust the fire onto the overgrown area to burn it away, Proceed downwards with the rock.
Place the rock onto the pressure platform in the floor using gust and move through the doorway to the left. (Strike the spiky Chobuds with a gust if they get in your way.)
You have found the second shrine – The shrine of slipstream.
