Inactive Crew still taking my cash. fired all of them...

I dont understand this system...

i have a bunch of inactive Crew members and they are 100% useless
Why would they still take a % of my profits if they are siting in a bar some where getting Drunk....

I just notice I've lost close to 80 Million to a crew member i never used...

if you're going to charge us a % of credits from our Profit you should at lease consider making the crew members more useful beside just flying a Fighter around...

if they gave me an boost to PIP , See them sitting next to me in my ship or actually use my Turrets to shoot down Mining rocks... OK FINE

but as it stands having a crew member beside using them for fighters are 100% useless and a waste of Credits!

PS im referring to NPC crew members , not real players.

did you read my post or did you just rage.?!?!

if they gave me an extra PIP or if I could ACTUALLY see them sitting next to me in my ship or actually use my Turrets to shoot down Mining rocks...

its not a big change but it could have massive outcome.

as it stands having crew members ( NPC ) is comeplty useless unless you're doing bounty hunting... or have a fighter bay . beside that they are just a drain on your economy.

i literally Fired a Crew member that i ranked from the bottom to the top in fighting because he was sucking MILLIONS out of me while inactive.
honestly that is game breaking.

Elite Dangerous has over 10 types of professions and crew members are used for 1. ALLOT more could be done with them.

Mining: use turrets
Exploring: boost FSD, scan range ect.
Bounty hunting: fighter bay , turrets
Passenger ship: boost happiness in passengers , lower risk of unhappy passengers ... ect..
General use: boost PIPs , look pretty in the empty seat in my ship ect....
ect:
ect:
ect:

No I had no rage, just pointing out that instead of formulating a suggestion you made a post that detailed your discontent with the current system. The use of font manipulation makes your post look more rant than argument.

So from your later post it would appear that you would like to suggest that your NPC crew could be utilised in other ways.

Maybe just make the suggestion instead of "shouting" your grievance and so masking your intended suggestion.

If you need an Elite NPC, you pay, like everyone else does.
The NPC is on constant standbye and being as such requires a wage to be paid. The joys of being an employer.

You can however shurk these fees.
Hire your Expert NPC. Use Expert NPC (expert npcs are actually pretty good). Fire Expert NPC before cashing in bounties.

Some may say thats an exploit, but I say, ''get lost, and take that nonsense elsewhere''.
You pay the NPC upfront for its services. You wouldn't buy a MikiDees and expect to pay them over and over again for the meal you bought weeks ago.

If you really need an Elite NPC, you pay, like everyone else does.

Can't I send my crew mate on vacation? I paid 160m to a guy that only joins my ship every few months for an hour of conflict zwning or so. I wish I could get paid 160m for a few hours of work. It's an odd system and I think frontier needs to change this. Why not increase pay rates when they are onboard and reduce the payrates drastically to less than 1% if they are in active.

One per cent is too close to zero, so its very unlikely, Fdev, would pay any notice to that suggestion.
Personally. I could live with 50% reduction of take whilst not aboard ship, but then heres the scam and extra work, Fdev, would need to do to stop it - remove npc from ship before cashing in missions = 50% reduction of take.

I can live with the current system as is, but thats my choice. I dont mind it. It doesn't mean I wouldn't be open for change however, but I wont force it.

I think npc crew member should be on commission, earning a percentage cut of all credit-value aquired while onboard, which means that if you take a 10m mission with your crew member, and they earn 10%, they receive 1m regardless of whether or not you turn in, or fail the mission. When you return to a station, you "owe" them, and must pay them before being able to hire them back in to an active slot. This removes the chances of dipping below your rebuy if credits are short, and removes the ability to exploit by pay-cut-if-inactive as illustrated above. If you do not pay your crew member, they leave, and the pay is deducted out of future income, much like insurance loans.

They're not sitting around in a bar, getting drunk while you flitter about the galaxy. They're flying in an unarmed, heavily stealthed Asp Scout, right behind you. This is why, whenever and wherever you dock, they're always all right there, sitting there in the crew lounge waiting for you - they docked at the same time you did.

And they hate flying around in an Asp Scout just as much as you do, so they demand compensation.
