Inara Web site

This site is fantastic! For those who don't know (and I'm betting in here there aren't many lol) it's at https://inara.cz

TBH I started using it recently for locations of material traders, but this morning i decided to have a look around and OMG :)

One thing I found was crafting lists. You select the upgrade, including how many rolls you think you might need per level, and hey presto it shows you what materials you need.

And there's so much more! I've just scratched the surface.

I'm pretty sure I'm telling grandma how to suck eggs in this group, but if you haven't been there...GO NOW!

This is definitely a one-stop shop for all things needed for Elite. For now, because of the 'bonanza' on upgrades and trading Frontier have set up, I'm gonna concentrate on upgrading and trading. But after 30th I'm going to spend some serious time on that site and delve into it more deeply.

Thank you to the person running that site, you are fantastic :D

I might still need EDDB, not sure though lol

Yeah...really great site. Our PMF is managering our BGS through "Inara". Really great. i think I posted it in the "FF Squadrons": "Why not copy "Inara" into the right hand panel?"

Ok so a question :)

I've been setting up crafting lists for all my ships (upgrades I haven't completed etc.).

The site shows "missing components" so I'm guessing there must be a way for the site to download your current materials somehow.

I had a look at the api section but got confused . Can this be done on xbox, or is it PC only?

If so, can someone give me a dummies guide on how to do it please :)

Currently I'm checking a crafting list then going back to game and manually checking for components.

Doable, but if it could be done automatically...........

TIA

This is PC only, I think. Cause I can't remember anything about third-party tools for consoles.

For example: I use the API key of inara to tell "EDMC" (ED:MarketConnector) to update my "Inara"-Content.

Oh shame :(

Pity you can't move cmdr details from xbox to PC as I'm getting an upgrade to my PC later this year.

But I'm too far in to start again :)

I recently fleshed out my Inara profile with as much data as I could provide from the game. My only complaint is that you can't import your various data directly from the game. It's only possible with the PC version. Shame. But it's a brilliant site and I'm happy updating my credits / assets / ships / whatever every now and then.

It's a great site, but I only use it to help cohere and record my RP, from character background, to descriptions of ships which contain references to things she's accomplished or details of her past. In Elite our ships are our stories, frankly, and so each one should be able to give a glimpse into that, and thus the person who's in the pilot seat.

I've not added a sig here yet, as I only wanted to once I'd actually uploaded my bio. I finished it months ago... but keep mulling over a rewrite, so I've not made it public (as opposed to drafted/private) yet. Anyone who bothers to click on an Inara link will probably only ever look at it once, so I always wanted to make sure everything on my page was properly finished.

But yeah, it's an incredibly well crafted community site. Maybe not the most regularly useful - that's either Coriolis or the trade database - but for my playstyle it's easily my favourite community created tool.

So how do you do that manually?

I'm specially interested in materials. flicking between pages in the game inventory is time consuming.

Unfortunatly, it's pure typing. Open your Mats-Tap on the right hand and type the amounts into inara. Even more tedious than obtaining guardian-blueprints. ;)

AND...you have to update your "inventory" manually too.

* there is an "edit inventory"-button at the "inara" cargo-screen

I love the "nearest" feature:

Great for finding the closest Mat Traders, Tech Brokers, etc

Sorted, thanks :)

I use it to find locations for just about everything. Saves on time wasted when searching for specific items. Probably would have given up on ED a long time ago if it wasn't for Inara.

Inara and EDDB... can't play the game without them... I actually dedicated an old iPad only for those sites while playing ED, plus to watch Youtube during long sys to station rides :)
