I play it from time to time when the trip around the galaxy gets tiring and I need a break. I find I am now ranked 21 but I'm not very good. I die a lot but my rank keeps slowly creeping up. I wish it didn't, at least until such time as I was at able to hold my head up a bit higher
It's quite fun in itself but it does make me feel I'm, letting the side down.
Stick at it. You actually pick up useful techniques and skills, seemingly subconsciously, the more you play.
I think you're doing fine right now, from what I've seen today.
Me, I'm not sure how much of the skills I've picked up will apply to the custom combat builds of the main game, where all you need is a super-powered plasma accelerator and the like. Still, every game is one mroe step towards the Attilus Orbital permit.
