Inconsistences in macropod scientific names

I just noticed that the new red-necked wallaby is correctly classified as Notamacropus rufogriseus, and while this is great to see, it has only made the outdated scientific name of the red kangaroo even more apparent. Both of these species used to be lumped under Macropus but have been split into other genera in recent years, with the red kangaroo's new binomial name being Osphranter rufus.

Now that we have another macropod species which follows the newer classification system, the red kangaroo still being classed as Macropus rufus is not only outdated but downright inconsistent. Therefore I thought it was about time to bring some attention to the issue again and hope it may finally be fixed!
