Incorporating petting zoo animals into dlc

As the title says, i would like to discuss the topic of farm/petting zoo animals.
From what ive read here, there are some people that really love the idear of a petting zoo dlc and some that really dont.
Multiple people stated that they wont be interested in buying a standalone farm animal pack, so my suggestion would be to sneak some in like the lama, whose most common critzism is, that as the only "farm" animal its often left out as there is Not enough in the game for a dedicated petting zoo area.

My first two suggestions are rather simple:
-Turkey in the NA-Pack
-Fallow deer in the Eu-Pack
Both animals are commonly held in petting zoos, while still having a rather "wild" feel, making them flexible to be used both in and outside of petting zoos.

The next two are "cheats" as they arnt actual petting zoo animals, but close enough to make belive: The somali wild donkey and the prezwalski horse
Both could easily pose as stand ins for regular horses and donkeys, while Not being the domesticated form and rather requested animals (i hear and feel you nutrit)

The last two are where it starts to become really spicy, as i have no clue how to integrate them outside of an petting zoo pack, but would be perfect as they are both distinct and common in zoos: The numibian dwarf goat and the vitnamese pot bellied pig.

As an honorable mention i would nominate the african watussi cattle and the scottish highland cow, both being destinct and rather fun breeds of cattle that would be a Joy to have in the game

Honestly, I wouldn't object to a general "Petting Zoo Pack" towards the end of the game's life. They're pretty common areas in zoos. On your idea, though, exotic breeds of domestic animals have always been in zoos, and we already have the llama as a starting point. The pygmy goat, kunekune pig, and Scottish highland cattle are three animals I wouldn't mind seeing.

I'd rather get them in a more appropriate pack and have a normal donkey and horse in a farm/children's zoo/petting zoo pack.

I'd like these animals.

I think there is a good case for a pack like this, probably towards the end of the game when more regions have been covered.

I've often thought it would be good if there was a mode where you start a zoo with things like llamas, emus, capybara, wallabies and highland cattle and work up bit by bit to a more impressive zoo. I might actually try that in sandbox with what we have but it would be nice to have a few more "small zoo" animals although I appreciate that not everyone would want those to be prioritised.

Honestly, I’d prefer a stand-alone petting zoo DLC towards the end of the development period - that way I could leave it until it was on sale and I’d feel less like whatever petting zoo animal was stealing a spot from a better choice…. My big local zoos and wildlife parks don’t have petting zoo sections, so it’s not something I find necessary, although I understand that lots of other people feel differently.

Then what kind of petting zoo animals would you like?
If we are getting a dlc my picks would be:
The nigerian dwarf goat, they are just a very standard small goat, but you could incorporate them in your africa sections with fun village style exhibis when they arnt restricted to playing around in a petting zoo.

They could be a fun mix with watusi cattle, but i doubt that we would get them in a petting zoo dlc.

The vietnamese pot-bellied-pig, a petting zoo staple (atleast in europe) and the thiccest boys around.
I have personally scratched a lot of them, but the main reason would be that they still look unique and diffrent from your standard domestic pig, also they are just really darn cute..

Honorable mentions to other pigs would be the danish protest pig, a political breed that was breed to look similar to the danish flag,
1624264444880.png

and the Kunekune, a fluffy pig from new zealand.

For some bovine representation i would choose the scottish highland cattle, the fluffiest of all bovine (i dont mind to be proven wrong on that as long as you have pics).

The one other bovine i would choose is the only one thats actually more fluffy, the domestic (or wild, both would be nice additions) yak.
Personally, i think i would like the yak more, as it would pair nice with snowleopards for himalayan themed sections, but i would also love seeing them in a proper mountain or himalayan pack with a tibetian theme, while the scottish highland cattle only would have a realistic chance in the petting zoo dlc.

For the forth pick i would say it could go either way, either to birds in form of chicken or geese or to the equine.
I personally would choose an equine and as picks either the domestic donkey or shetlandpony.
Both are cute, both are fluffy and both are up to preference which one you prefer.

For an exhibit, i would like to see the house mouse in an abandomed home themed exhibit, maybe with multiple kinds of rooms to choose.

And for a building theme i would go with an farm/barnyard theme that most importanly (to me) will include some hay pieces.

I hoped you liked the picks and reasoning, but what breeds and animals would you choose and what would you change? Tell me im curious :)

For me I'd go with;
- Pygmy goat.
- Scottish highland cattle.
- Kunekune pig.
- Broad-breasted bronze turkey.
- Dwarf rex rabbit (E).

The exhibit would auto-shift into a wooden structure with mesh windows rather than a glass tank.

For me I'd go with;
  • Pygmy goat / Anglo-Nubian goat
  • Scottish highland cattle / Ankole Watusi / Texas Longhorn
    [*]Mustang horse / Pony
  • Vietnamese pig / Juliana pig (Color: Always spotted the base color can be silver, white, red, rust, black, or cream. Spots are generally black but can also be red or white)

- Saxony duck / Abacot Ranger duck

- Rhinelander rabbit (It has a white undercoat that, unlike any other rabbit, is decorated with two different colored markings. This rabbit should have colored ears, eye circles, and a nose mark that resembles a butterfly. It should also show a spot under each eye.) / Harlequin rabbit (
It has a great variety of colors: blue, lilac, black, chocolate (combined with orange) or blue magpie, black magpie, chocolate or lilac magpie (combined with white).
The color scheme should always show opposite colored ears, as well as the face divided into two colors. Likewise, their legs must be of alternating colors.

Damn that are some cute bunnys.
Would love to see a big breed as a habitat animal one day for my perfekt petting zoos

Good picks! I would probably just build a bunch of pens for Nigerian dwarf goats. They are adorable.
I've seen a watusi IRL. They are GIGANTIC, tbh.

I know right? They are HUGE
Makes them just cooler and also more fitting to be in the game.
Its just a cow, but a giant one with huge horns from africa.
Now thats what i call a bovine
