Engineers Increase rep by selling exploration data?

I'm sure I have read somewhere that you can increase rep with Felicity Farseer by selling exploration data - can anyone confirm that? If so, is it only at the main station in Deciat (given there is no UC @ Farseer Inc.)? Or does selling it anywhere work - i.e. just increasing your exploration rank?

Once you give Felicity a meta alloy, log out and in again and then you can sell her exploration data.
Only selling data to her at Farseer Inc. will raise your rep with her.
You can also do the same with Elvira Martuuk after you've unlocked her.

Ah - the IT solution strikes again! And thanks for the tip on Elvira - anyone know if Soontil Relics are available these days again or is that still affected by the BGS?

By the way, has anyone checked if the current behaviour (have to actually log out and back in after donating MAs before you can sell exploration data) is expected? Seems a little odd - you would have thought that, once you had unlocked access to the engineer you would be able to sell exploration data straight away rather than this ...

I did not log out after giving her the material.
Just went to the cartographers office there and sold the data.
But as is usual in ED there was no update until after I left the station.
There was also a strange graphical glitch after the first sale, when I opened her shop it opened showing the statusbar moved by the sold amount, that quickly popped out and was replaced by an empty statusbar.
After leaving the station and coming back with new data it worked.

But that is quite usual that a status is not updated immediately, often noticed it when doing ranking missions. you and in teh mission no change you fly away and a minute or so later the status is updated.

you actually don't have to logg out - leaving the system and doing some jumps away and back to clear the cache and make it reloading the system does work, too

it is simply the way those things work ingame. same goes for other things like combatzones ... if a war breaks out in the system you are in, and you don't leave it and never logg out, you'll never see them. station services, combatzones etc. are all cached. you need to force refresh.

I did exactly the same thing this weekend, Kietrax, and had the same problem with Farseer. Logged out and back in again and the Cartographic button was available. Next issue was that after selling around 1.2 mill of exploration data my reputation hadn't moved. Logged out and in for a second time, and rep had increased to grade 3.

Quicker than launching / flying / landing again

Glad I could help.
Also the relics were available at Cheranovsky City in the Ngurii system a couple of weeks ago. I imagine they probably still are.
