Increased FSD range, FGS (rather urgent)

Dear all

I have just grinded my way to 4 attempts at the FSD range class 4. Could someone please indicate what a good roll is with respect to the RNG? As said, I have 4 attempts. However, I have no idea what a good enough roll is :/ Jumping now so Ill post the result shortly :)

Well, you'll see the red (bad) and blue (good) sections that the roll will randomly end up in. Blue is an upgrade, red is a downgrade. So anything blue is good, and the further to the right into the blue, the better. The best possible roll is at the very right end of the blue section.

edit: also, be aware that the red/blue sections are shown according to your current stats. So you'll see that after you accept an upgrade, all future upgrades will have a bigger red section and a smaller red, as your current FSD is already better than the norm, so there's only that much more left for you to improve. It makes it easy to compare though, as it means that even when tuning an already upgraded module, the blue section is still the one indicating that the roll is better than what you currently have.

Thank you kindly! My FSD gained a 28% increase in distance. Given that the marker was rather centered towards max, I assume that is rather average :)

you want as much blue as possible and as little red as possible. Also at rank five at least, you can get a bonus upgrade up a 5% increase on optimal mass (bringing the total up to 55% (or 45%? I can't remember) max possible FSD range. Also one or two additional stats will get bonuses or penalties as a result. The absolute best role you can ever hope for would as I said before, maximum blue, minimum red, and maximum optimal mass bonus (5%) and maximum secondary bonuses (or at least minimum penalties). The secondary bonuses are usually not super important, like fuel usage or integrity.

Good luck, CMDR

With a very lucky rank 5 roll you can even get a optimal mass boost beyond it's limits as a secondary bonus.
Also rank 5 commodities are buyable and not mission reward or random USS dependent.
