Incursion?

Hm. I thought the railgun was pretty powerful against armor. I disabled the Cobra's engines with it a couple of times (by pure chance); never happened with the laser. It also looks like the Anaconda in my video stops shooting near the end. I wonder what I hit there.

It is probably reloading PDTs or PDTs simply overheated.

Woohoo!

Finally made it right the way through just now! :)

Not entirely sure what got me through waves 8 and 9; the latter was the first time I'd ever got that far. I was trying just 1 pip extra to WEP away from the balanced setup for the first time against groups. I also went head-on with a single ship and tried to destroy it before it passed me on the first approach in waves 8 and 9. Plus I switched to new targets opportunistically if they were in my field of view; less time spent turns and being shot at. Oh, and I was wearing headphones, which is unusal for me -- probably a talisman from now on!

So those are my tips, make of them what you will. Wave 10 I just took my time and sniped from range with a little bit of backwards flying -- despite my stubborness to avoid that in the earlier waves, I wasn't going to waste my one chance at bagging the Anaconda!

Right, everyone who completes incursion from now on is going to make me curl up on the sofa and sob - I hope you're happy!

P.S. Well done, I must have plenty more goes before Friday - it can't be as impossible as it seems, even with my aged reflexes.

I am happy! But I know exactly how you feel and so will try to gloat too much. If it's any consolation, I was playing with keyboard and mouse before but my new joystick turned up today and it's like I'm a toddler at the controls, right back to square one.

Still doing better than me, I'm stuck on wave seven. Every time those three #$%@# ships appear, no matter WHAT ship I try to engage, two immediately get behind me and let loose. If I try and bank around immediately to fend them off, the first ship starts pounding me.

Sad thing is, I've resorted to Youtube videos to figure out a way of beating it, and every example I see has the pilot doing what I do - only the other two don't seem to engage them immediately, giving him or her time to take out the lead fighter to make it a more manageable 2 on 1.

You can do it!

Start with the Sidewinder.
Boost closer and temporarily put power to engines to get closer before they turn up.
Line him up before he arrives.
Put your speed into the blue zone.
Four pips in weapons.
Don't miss.

the anaconda has a weapons range of about 2 600m you can still hit it at 2 700m to about 3 000m i just stay in the 2 700m to 3 000m and shoot it and it dont touch me thats how i deal with anaconda's lol i know its kinda cheating but alls fair in love and war:D

how do you takeout one not using the range advantage ??

You get into its deadzone right behind its main thrusters. Easier said than done and needs you to be swift in correcting your relative position as the Anaconda swivels around.

If you get to the Anaconda last wave with a decent shield and hull intact then you can try it out.

There was also one mission in the list, mission 6 or 7 I think? where you have to beat an anaconda and a few fighters. You can practice it there.
