Index Double Vision

I've been playing for a couple days outside VR without any issues, however when launching it in VR (Valve Index) the game has a serious double-vision/split-vision problem, where I see two of everything reasonably far apart, even in menus, adjusting any headset sliders or ingame options made no difference.

I installed EDProfiler and launched it through that and actually got it working first try, played a few hours in VR without any issues, so I thought "great" - but when I launch it again today I have the same double vision issues.

I've tried:

resetting my graphics back to full defaults
completely reinstalling ED and SteamVR
launching via the client directly, steam and EDPRofiler
setting "renderCameraMode":"raw" and "renderCameraMode":"parallel" in SteamVR settings

but I can't seem to find what the problem is or what got it working the one successful launch I've had, I've seen similar issues reported with the pimax but almost nobody with similar complaints about the Index.

The issue is only clear when actually in VR, but I can get a pretty decent estimate of what it looks like using the "both eyes, (left/right) dominant" setting in the desktop VR display: Source: https://i.imgur.com/UA9ETrl.png

If anyone has seen this before or has any ideas for things I can try it would be much appreciated.

I have a Valve and don't have this problem. Looks like a defect in the headset...An aliment problem of some sort.

I would consider going to Steam support with this, but I don't have similar issues in any other game I've played, and did have ED work fine on the Index the first time I launched it via EDProfiler.
Right now at least I think this is some settings/config issue, which is even more frustrating since It should and can work

Hmmmm This is a bit strange. Do you have any other utilities running in the back ground for your Head Set Like " FPS VR " Something like that may cause your problem.

I had pseudo-vive but have deleted it as part of my troubleshooting, other than that nothing custom whatsoever outside the game - I own OVRdrop but haven't launched it with ED yet, not sure there's any other similar VR apps I've touched.

Hmmm It makes sense that it a software issue. Try uninstalling OVRdrop just to be sure. Every Other VR title Works fine Right? Only Elite gives s you double vision. Is that correct

I've uninstalled OVRDrop, then completely uninstalled Elite, fully deleted all Elite/Frontier folders under steam or AppData, and reinstalled SteamVR, yet I still have the same issue.

Yes, only Elite has double vision, I've been playing a number of other games without issue in the meantime, and I have had ED launch perfectly fine in VR once before.

Thanks for your suggestions so far!

Your index has Dispay port plug..On your video card is there more then one DP..If so try switching to another dispaly port plug..see if that works

Just tried it in every DP port, no change sadly, also reinstalled Nvidia drivers just in case but no change either.

Is it possible for you to try the head set on another system. That way you would at least know it's in the head set and not the computer...let me know

The only windows machine I have right now is the PC i'm using sadly, I'll re-image a laptop to try it if I can't figure this out any other way, today I've:
  1. Reinstalled Pseudo-vive just to make sure it's turned off properly before I deleted it again.
  2. Uninstalled all Index drivers
  3. Uninstalled SteamVR, deleted SteamVR folder and reinstalled it
  4. Reinstalled Nvidia drivers
I'm thinking somehow some aspect of Pseudo-vive is still active (it's been known to cause these issues), but I can't think of anything further I could do to ensure it's removed, and there's multiple people saying just deleting it from the drivers folder was all it took...

I hope you can figure it out. please keep my informed on your progress. and if I can think of something else I'll let you know.
