This is an iconic addition seen in the ZT games, but one that should be considered for it's function. The popup emoticons really helped indicate exactly where and when changes in guest/animal mood occurred.
I'd love to not have to click each guest to read their thoughts and try find patterns across the map - seeing popups was incredibly simple, fast, and informative part of management. These popups also helped with player flow state - they were small and satisfying bits of feedback to balance the minor stresses of decision making.
It becomes tiring to put effort in if your only reward is things not going wrong. Let us know how guests are feeling!
