Indigenous Life? When did that appear?

Did I miss the memo on that one? :)

Yep, been there since pretty much forever. The earliest ELW I can easily find in my records was from last February and that had the exact same description.

Not new, as my OCR package has been looking for this text specifically since a while.

I was wondering about the indegenous life a bit when all people were so excited about "alien life in the Pleiades" all of a sudden. We know the indegenous life is sometimes quasi-earth and includes arthropods (ant grub glue rare trade item), so specific arthropods are only a matter of choosing a large enough sample. When arthropods decide to go sessile I imagine they will come out looking like barnacles with high probability (-> independent evolution of similar traits). In addition, we'd start running into things which look like barnacles but are something else than actual arthropods (molluscs, sessile vertabrates, alien others). The bubble, which is rich in original earth-likes, quite possible has "large barnacles" too, in several different colours.

Lots of indigenous life out there, but that could mean single-celled beasties or reality-tv stars - it's intelligent life we're all hankering for. ;)

I personally think it's a shame that there's not more of a wow-factor when finding alien life (however simple) on your travels...:(
