Indoor Attractions - shows, concerts, comedy club, etc.

I was actually building a hotel and a thought occurred to me. (Rare that I ever get one of those!)

So, with a just a little tweaking, the hotels already in the game could be converted to "indoor shows". The foyer would function exactly the same, and then everything from small coffee houses to large theatres could be made depending on the number of modules you are including in each building.

Then instead of room service, wi-fi, gym and all, you could choose comedy club, coffee house, stadium. Perhaps sliders that would allow you to adjust the duration and intensity and excitement of the experience, thereby changing the prestige and the ride rating.

I know many people enjoy building these structures, and most look wonderful, but not so great empty. This way, one could build a nice facade, then plop down each cubicle depending on the size desired, set the excitement and intensity levels, and bingo! a working theatre.

For instance; Nice burlesque theatre, totally empty!

I would imagine the programming on Frontier's end would not be that difficult, and it would give players dozens of flexible opportunities to create indoor shows.

I would still love to have outdoor bleachers as well! Everything from a twenty seat puppet show to a hundred or more stadium bleachers.

And there is the 10th thread of this idea in the last 3 months.

Guess I should watch the forums a little more than I do. To be fair, your suggestion was made using pieces that work like the hotel, but are stages, bleachers etc. I put forth that no extra modeling of any kind needed to be done, except the icons on the cubicles themselves, greatly simplifying the process.

Literally the only change would have to be a bit of coding of those cubicles.

Well my system can also used in combination with yours. But i was more like: Everyone is asking for shows. My system is all about customizable stages, seating and the scenery pieces you build around it to do so. If you want a comedy theater for i mean like your hotel guests you can also implement my system of building a stage, creating a functional decor, place the needed instruments, link the seatings. Add a working entrance and hire one or multiple comedian staff members that perform the show. Or do big musicals. Or did i get you wrong on this is what you want?

They are both great ideas, and I would love to have the intricacy of your idea. I was just thinking that utilizing just the cubicles would far less labor intensive and easier to recode for Frontier, and if nothing else, could serve as a stop gap measure until your idea was implemented. I have a gut feeling that complete stages, props and so forth may have to wait until we can produce our own CS. I guess we'll see.

For myself, sometimes I just want a reason for guests to enter a building and stay there for a set period of time. Like with the hotel I don't need to see a room, a bed, etc. I think most of us have used the old trick of just hiding a ride inside of a facade, but then they break down, or the need for both an entrance and exit, plus there's no management angle if income/expense/advertising/etc. While I'd love to see dhwessie's idea implemented, I think often I could also use the far simpler idea of citytrader - especially if it's a large park and I'm perhaps not going to detail all the interiors otherwise, which is sometimes the case on my parks... So I like both ideas.
