Engineers Inertial Impact: Make it worth equipping

After quite some testing with Inertial impact burstos on both my Python and Eagle, I really can't find any use for it. It drops off your real DPS by around 90-99% if you're over 300 meters away. Even when latching my nose to the butt of an FDL with my ImpEagle, it just won't get useful and only hits like 70%. Neither sustained fire nor tactical circling around a target can get anything good off this experimental effect. Jeez, why is this even in the game?

I'd like to make some suggestions to make it an experimental effect worth equipping:

1. Just cut the damage bonus down to 20% and decrease the jitter by 75%.

2. Keep the damage bonus, start at 0 jitter but make sustained fire increase the spread. (controlled bursts huehue)

3. Remove it completely and give me my mats back.

Thanks for reading!

Inertial Impact works like a laser frag cannon, it even has the same jitter. As with normal frags, it is useful only at point-blank distance, but results can be truly devastating. When installed on Short Range burst, it gives HUGE damage boost. Install several of those on closely grouped hardpoints (like Chieftain's or Gunship's) and go have a blast.

I once had two such fixed burst lasers fitted on a fun build Vulture. Despite being able of shooting point blank regularly I found it more or less impossible to hit something smaller than a Python. It's an absolute niche weapon IMO and there are definitely more viable alternatives compared to this saturday night fever disco laser.

Exactly what I did (not on a chief though) and it was just horrible. The damage bosst is nice but you don't hit anything even when on point blank range. It's near impossible to kill smaller vessels and for the big ones PP sniping makes more sense. Or equipping a good multicannon...

I use it on my Vette while jousting and you can see the damage it really does.

I mean on a corvette you can face-tank any NPC in the game. I didn't try II Burstos on huge hardpoints yet, but for large ones they won't realibly hit a conda on 500m (around 50% hitrate depending on the angle)
