Inertial Impact...What The Actual?

Having finally unlocked Broo...I am in the process of upgrading my lasers & as an all dakka-dakka merchant, multi-cannon aficionado, I'm in new territory here. Hmmm what to choose for a special on my burst laser?...Woah that sounds interesting...increased damage + half converted to kinetic with some jitter.

Take the rep hit & apply! Well, how bad can the 3 deg (it turns out) jitter be? I thought - as SS was constantly pointing out at the time Engineers dropped '...they are an upgrade, after all!'

How bad? Well it makes the effect useless unless hitting a medium/large sized ship from relatively close range! Hence lets clarify this for a moment; here is a great new advantageous weapon feature, with just one downside...you can't actually aim it at anything! I think of those poor souls who opted for the long range option [haha] back in the day when upgrades were laborious! How did this incarnation make it through to the final game - surely FD have to do something with it!??

I would suggest either remove the jitter entirely & reduce the damage output or tone down the jitter to manageable levels, errr perhaps 1 deg?

I hear you.. Did the same as you and.. Well you saw how bad that effect is. It's a little bit stupid.. It should work as the incendiary work on projectiles without that stupid jitter that render the weapon useless.

Couldn't agree more. Inertial impact is absolutely useless. If I'm going to get that close I might as well be using rails or PAs.
