WOW this game should have CG....

Infiltrate the Megaship data link

Megaship: LAO-509 HENRY-CLASS HAULER
System: HIP 99940

And reward should be FREE Carrier or (2x triple engineered 8A FSD and thrusters + 7A FSD and thrusters + 6A FSD and thrusters) for TOP 100% participants (considering you manage to do that) hahahaha
Don't forget you must be a least 200 meters close to ship uplink log to scan it.

I'm trying that last 10-12 hours... somehow I can't.

No cigar for me o_O

For those who would like to try, one tip... use small ship!

PS Don't pay attention on my avatar and life attitude of joking, this one isn't joke.

Something specific to this particular megaship? or the mission type in general?
That's the catch... If I told you it won't be interesting challenge.
As I wrote before small tip... you need small ship Something like... Courier or Viper MK III (I think this is actually big TIP naming those 2 ships) ;)

Mission is quite simple, regular infiltrate megaship data link (I love those missions, they help me to map systems doing something not so boring)... except something is quite different with that particular megaship. Ship orbiting around two stars in close proximity (don't know exactly which one).

Let me guess: the moment you drop out of supercruise, the megaship zooms away into the distance?
Yup... Almost manage to follow... but no matter how much engine focused is my courier... after 4 boosts he started to make distance impossible for me to follow.
Maybe someone in better (faster) ship can, maybe using F63 Condor fighter, maybe... just maybe... BUT whoever can scan that link, deserve unique reward in game.

BTW megaship don't travel anywhere, I supercruise to nearest planet and start following trajectory and distance... distance was same, so she orbiting around those two stars (or one) really fast.

My Imperial Courier does 537-729 m/s boost. It has a hammer rail gun with feedback cascade and two plasma accelerators.
My Imperial Eagle does 583-778 m/s boost. It has a beam with thermal vent and two rail guns with super penetrator.

A stripped out engineered Imperial Eagle can do 672-896 m/s boost. That is with a 2A charged enhanced power distributor for multiple boosts and a 2C bi-weave fast charge shield for bumping into the megaship. Still with only a 10LY jump range it would need to be transported to the system.

Even if the Eagle could catch up scanning the data link at less than 200 meters while boosting would be interesting. Worse if someone pulled this off it is a megaship. Once a data link is scanned it doesn't reset until the next Thursday maintenance update.

Hmm...if we could disable the megaship thrusters...Good luck!

as you can see max speed 652 boost 885... still couldn't catch that megaship... That system must have be some ultra-mega-super top secret facility developing enhanced megaship drives :ROFLMAO:
Usually I don't have hardpoints on her, except when is CG and I armed her with 3x caustic missile launcher... See ganker, hit ganker and flee... let him rot... He can always go to his carrier or try to land on stations to clean ship... Don't care, point is not to kill him, point is wasting his fun.

Point of this post is about CG's in global. Give us some interesting CG's which ask for effort and intelligence, not mundane fight, haul or lose your time in relogging gathering stupid things. Last really above average CG I remember was mapping Earth-like worlds... Yes that is also boring, but at least you do something besides (explore).
I don't say it should be some explore CG, just give us something different and not so repeatable.

There is plenty of suggestions in community here, read some of them... If you can't find them, ask community in this forum and I'm sure people will come with plenty of good ideas.
 
I agree. Look at the current AXCG. 30 M and 2 Salvation Gauss (which are already written off by the Community) for people who turned in Billions of Bonds.

People wont do them and there will be low turn out which will have wasted fdev time..
The smuggler/bounty CG running now actually required thinking about how to find smugglers in the CG System... but instead of people actually thinking how do I find these ships with smugglers on them and what location will they be at,
Its Whine that they cant just go to a Ring and blow ships up...

Having to think How can I Ambush people that dont want to be found as they make their living not being found, was to much work...
