Infinity: Battlescape

Just saw this on Scott Manley's channel Thought it looked interesting. Actually, extremely interesting. Actually far more interesting than both Elite Dangerous AND Star Citizen, AND No Man's Sky.... And it's just a prototype.

Anyone have thoughts on this? I've never seen a space sim appeal to me more, and I've played everything from X3 to Star Conflict, with Galaxy on Fire 2, X Rebirth, EVE Online, and Evochron Mercenary in-between. I'm an active Elite Dangerous player, but if this ever gets off the ground, it might take my business, provided they can provide enough to do.

Those ships designs are great as well. Elite has a mix of interior aesthetics, but Star Citizen is very sleek and streamlined. This is a much more industrialized aesthetic, which is actually very appealing. Reminds me of some of the ships from the Star Wars Universe. It really caters to my inner nerd.
That Starfield Destroyer concept especially on the developer site really appeals to me as a kind of 'Ebon Hawk'-like design.

Anyway, I didn't create this thread to rave about this. I didn't create it to encourage everyone to put money toward it. I just thought this could be an adequate place to discuss this engine, and the game they are considering developing for it. I want impressions and wholesome discussion on it, and what you all think this could represent for the future.

One this is for sure though: This is a great time to be a fan of space sims.

I look at it and see potential, it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't really know why. Maybe because the premise and scope seem very limited (solar system risk).

You can also report your OP and ask the mods to merge.

Yeah its not an openended exploration game (as was their original intentions) but a strategical and tactical flight combat game.
What makes it very interesting (aside from the amazing procedural generation and seamless transitions) is that there is also a resource and development management game.

This is aiming to be a RTS game in space, played from within the cockpits of the spaceships, with hundreds of players at once spread across a vast solar system.

Its a very unique idea while at the same time featuring some VERY unique technology.
I can only think of a few examples of games that have touched on a similar concept and none of which was in space.

Im more then excited for this one :)

Looks good, kind of like Planetside 2 but on solar scale. Only $20 to pledge as well :)

It's a shame they cant raise more funds marketing the engine. It's a good one, better than FD's Cobra engine IMO.
