Influence: Flipping stations and systems. (A collation of dev comments and feedback - Jan 13th 2014)

sounds like we might have to wait a month to get missions expanded and minor factions. For now i guess u can come in and shoot the ships in USS and interdict belonging to the major faction, u get a bounty and must be able to defend if u get multiple system auth ships. But i believe that reduces their influence. there are some missions to trade with the minor faction taht causes economic boom ( i guess that helps increasae tehir wealth). Or take missions from in the same system at other stations that help raise their influence.

At elast its workng a little bit.

Most of this is true yes. I will clarify that point! (Just need to find a quote backing it.) But for those minor factions without a station and with very little influence there are no missions and trade is not possible

Yup so really u need to kill a lot of npcs belonging t othe dominant faction, that does shift the influence back up, but youre bounties go up and u need somewhere nearby to repair etc. Its a bit of a shame but so be it, it will be fixed soon enough. The devs have the right idea.
Well there is another thing and that is to push a system to lockdown of the dominant faction or economic boom ( the checkpoints we saw in HR had a mix of all factions, my guess is that u can focus trade on the sites with the traders belonging to the smallest factor,) those sites are the missing link - that might raise trade-influence that way. Or shoot the traders belonging to the dominant faction. theres always slave missions ( do em for the dominant faction and their influecne falls) does that raise influence for the others though. Lots of unashwered questions

Noted these changes from patch 1.06

- Improvements to space station news generated from background simulation events
- No longer treat commodities as prohibited in the system map or on trade route data for space stations that have temporarily declared them legal
- Fix a bug that sometimes prevented a starsystem's government type and major faction allegiance changing
- System change queues no longer stall
- Fixed issue with influence from a faction from a different system not being applied to the correct system
- Added a safety net so that permits awarded on faction ranks (Imperial and Federal) will be forcibly added at the rank above if the player hasn't been able to access the mission for whatever reason

Thought you might want to add this tid bit of information if its not already clearly stated.

Thanks for this Conley. I had to go AWOL from the game a while due to a newborn. I'm not sure if there's a more updated list than mine now, might take me a few weeks to figure things out again.
