I know that this issue has been discussed several times, but I like to add one more thread to prevent the topic from disappearing.
It's the influence of activities a player does in open play and solo/group to influence the Galaxy.
I like to play powerplay but...
the whole immersion of political changes that are influenced by players gets lost because of soloplay.
If I help to establish a new political order in a system or I shoot down Fed-Aid ships in order to help a power to establish its influence, I do this in open play.
I play in open play because:
a) It should be more thrilling
b) It should feel more authentic..
because I may encounter enemy players, but....
I never.. or let's say rarely meet any players of an opposing faction in that system.
Why?
Because these players used to play solo or within a prrivate group and they seem to influence the system in the same way as I do it.
This seems to me wrong!
An example:
I fight NPC's in a system to prepare it for invasion.... no other enemy players are visible.
At the end I destabilized the system for 80%, only to determine that the opposing factions managed to stabilize the same system in the same time by 100%.
But how is that? No enemy players were present (in open play) during this period !?
This hurts the authenticity so much that at the end, powerplay makes not as much fun as it should do.
I like the idea that solo players influence the whole Galaxy! But this should happen underground! The influence of solo play should not influence the Galaxy as much as open play.
This change would make open play much, much (much!!) more interesting for open players as well as for solo players (who may decide to get out of the underground if they want to influence the Galaxy more than they already did).
This should go for everything, powerplay, influence if missions, community goals, .... everything.
