How about it is possible for a big group/clan (once implemented completely) to take over a system? And having a fighting areas (like there are already).
The problem with fighting/neutral areas is - why should people fight, if all the cargo dropped/ships killed dont really matter much except for repairs and ammo?
If people/clans/anyone fought over a system that automatically produces goods, materials, etc income in general for their (temporarily) owend system, that would give a reason to fight for.
A single man could be rich - but only until he has to defend himself against many invaders.
Many people together could be rich - if they divided their income wisely to defend the system
A big clan could own the system - and haven an impact on the political fractions in the game - if they manage to keep their influence etc...
I cant see an ultimum goal in the game, except for getting a bigger ship, equipping it and repeat....
Minecraft has complete sandbox, you can actually build something and have an impact on the world.
Other MMOs have something like an endgame, here i can see none.
Of course you could shoot down a fleet carrier a long battle with your friends eventually. But currently it would be like this:
- Its far away (time better spent farming or pirating)
- High Rep/Ammo costs
- 1 guy gets the kill
- almost no goods that give you the feeling that it was worth the fight
Now you could say if its a good fight its always worth the fight... But usually there is some sort of outcome also: Either more influence, more credits or parts that i could use myself.
But none of that exists...
I know the game is still being further developed, but still, it has officially been released.. I play since ~4 days and own appx 4-5million worth of spaceship (which there is still way to go, i know)
but i cant see the ultimum goal of the game yet.
AND please let solo players have different accounts. its kind of unfair if they can "undisturbedly" do their trades in solo play (only threatened by lame NPCs) and then can just join
multiplayer with the same account or if you actually try to make some money on trade routes online against other players.
So far its a good game, but still way to go....
