Ingame assets

I have been pondering if i should buy this or not, but i got a bit disappointed with Planet Coaster to the fact that ingame assets were very few and you had to basically download assets from Steam Workshop.
You shouldnt need to use Workshop at all, all assets should be available with ingame assets.

How about with Planet Zoo? Do we still need Workshop stuff? In Planet Coaster there was also lots of Workshop assets which didnt even work ingame at all.

Please define "very few" and "need".

I don't own Planet Coaster and therefore I have no reference.
I played Planet Zoo's beta though and I was impressed by the amount of items to build with - and there weren't even all "launch items" unlocked in the beta.
Furthermore I expect this number to even increase with future DLCs.

Don't forget all the items can be used creatively, too: Silvarret did build a whole house with only a plank, in the Workshop there was a whole "fossilized" dreagon built by only the beta items.

Can we wish for even more?
Sure!
Personally, I would love some more uneven and "natural" forms (which would be challenging to fit in the object-center oriented building system).
Maybe, just maybe there will be a "Thememakers toolkit" for Planet Zoo as well (which I belive you are refering to).
While this will doubtlessly unleash the modders' creativity (maybe even I will try to create something; maybe the natural forms mentioned above), I hardly see it has a neccesary addition in order to enjoy the building aspect of the game!

As far as I could see in the beta, there are a lot of objects, with infinite combination of them to build whatever you want. It will require some creativity though.
If you want to know if there are a lot of already built stuff, I would say not so much in the beta. However, the purpose of this game is to stimulate your creativity to build something nobody has, and the game provided enough items for that already in the beta. I would expect even more things in the release.

I have to admit I am a bit confused to what you mean by assets as pretty much everything in the workshop was built with what the game provided. It was just a matter of how people put the pieces together.

That's why I think that Henkka77 is refering to the Thememaker's toolkit. That's also the only reason I can imagine why something doesn't work.

I'm confused...everything in the workshop was built using the items available in the game. So, if you are impressed with what is in the workshop, you should be impressed with what the game has to offer, yes?
Unless you mean prefabricated buildings?

Never played PC, maybe those workshop assets were broken.
(happens a lot with steam creations when a game updates or you don't have the correct DLC installed)

Pretty impressed with the assets/building your own assets in Beta.
Making creations was a bit difficult for me..

I'm sure there will be videos and pictures shared soon with all of the in-game possibilities and objects. Such as screenshots of the in-game object browser.

Feel free to ask questions or request specific info about the game. That's what the forums are for, among other things :)
