I concur With OP's findings - and it's definitely not at my end. Timings get worse in busy systems so I suspect a weak node in the P2P instance is probably having more of an impact than the amazon servers. Whilst on the subject I wonder if Frontier have looked at moving to the new Azure datacentres that have just opened up? (they are faster than amazon...)

- I do not work for Microsoft!

Mine open more or less instant so that was my assumption, have you opened up you ports for your router/Firewall?

Something has been sneaking in, beginning about ~4 weeks ago. And several (but not all) CMDRs were affected. I was one of them.

Eventually becoming borderline unplayable, in desperation and running out of ideas (after 2 years of trouble-free Playing) I opted for Manual Port Forwarding (UDP 5100) w/ disabled UPnP.
For me, this instantly solved all those problems that kept getting worse by the day.
Doesn't help everybody, though - but it sure removed almost all of those massive lags for me.

While I like the story OP is spinning.

Frontier have said recently that they've seen a large increase in players recently, and that they are sorting the infrastructure for the increased load.

Supercruise delays. It's part of the game or is the post poorly written. Do they mean networking delays? I don't know. Happy to be wrong.

I've been experiencing long delays exiting sc.
Long delays opening mission board, galaxy map, system map.

Not quite sure it's anything to do with teleportation :)

I don't get any annoying delays other than the drop to instances with lots of player traffic and this is VERY occasional and reserved for special events.

Other than that, if it's not a network issue on my end (like my wife's downloads hogging up our crappy router), I don't get to wait for anything for more than 2 seconds. Either of the maps, the menus or transitions take 2-3 seconds tops.

Maybe they should sell some of that advertising space they have at station entrances and at outposts to real companies and get their own servers ;)

Ah. Now I understand. It's network lag. Not much we can do about it. I am sure FDev are working on it, but it won't go away completely when you are in the bubble.

I suspect that when we get the Commander creator, the mission boards will speed up as all the software for the PG portraits will now be on our computers, hopefully that will help. dropping out of supercruise is also a network issue as we drop into a differnt network instance. The pause is the system checking for other commanders, the BGS etc. There maybe a way of making it faster or hiding it better we will have to wait and see.

I remember taking between 2 and 15 minutes to drop out of supercruise in Premium Beta.

Strange. I didn't see long delays too often in the beta's. But that was beta and this is release so not sure how that's relevant. To the OP's point: agree there has been a pattern of increasing delays with each new release. FDev has managed to react and improve them to a point with follow-up patches so let's hope things improve.

I agree with the OP.

Menu delays. Hell, there is a delay when I press Esc to get to the GUI system menu!? Edit: The filter really erased D.A.F.U. Q.?

The galmap never used to have a delay. Edit: It sure does these days. I guess FD decided we weren't bombarded with enough ****ing loading screens.

Half the time when I go to turn in combat bonds, the "bondsman" never loads. I have to exit and restart.

Oh hey, remember the good old days of 2.0 when planetary transfers used to be seamless? Pepperidge Farm remembers! Nowadays, exit from orbital cruise is a painfully long loading screen.

All results of not even attempting to fix any of the enormous, game-breaking issues with the instancing and netcode in this game.

I don't play much anymore, not since the new mission board really. As much as I like the new look and feel, running missions was one of my main sources of income and I just can not be bothered with the 10 - 30 second wait every time I open the mission board/accept a mission/hand in a completed mission. Personally I find it pretty much unplayable. If it was once in a while I could tolerate it, but it's every single time.

Yes, I'm sure plenty of you will tell me how it's not that big of a deal etc... etc... and that's fine, go play the game if it doesn't bother you, but it bothers me immensely and until they fix it, I probably won't play the game much and I certainly won't be investing any more money into it. Maybe there are more people who feel the way I do, maybe I'm the only one, who knows. All I know is that I won't be investing any more money until they sort out their 1984 lag issues.
