Insomnia FX alternative?

So... the InsomniaFX thread got closed by request of the OP with no word on what happened. The links are down, and so I'm left with the vanilla game...

Well, I feel a bit weird not knowing what happened over at that thread (especially since the closing was kind of sudden and unexpected), and I'm looking for an alternative.

Can someone suggest something compatible with Horizons?

i made a graphicsconfig with bluish galaxy Background(like that in his config) and also a reshade preset see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7kzlTh3sGYit not finished, still some Things to tweak....if you want to try i can upload it.

or use EDFX ,also easy to install or downlaod reshade with the mediator its rly easy to make a good preset if you have some time ^^

I'm a bit confused by Insomnia's role in the development of Reshade, did they develop Reshade and the Elite Dangerous configuration, or did they write the configuration for Reshade that is popular with Elite?

As far as I can see Insomnia is just a regular ReShade user, not a developer. He did write his own configuration though that we all enjoy.

I can see why though. There is certainly fun to be had in EDH, but the price currently is way too steep for what is being offered. Perhaps we got into EDH too soon and should have let it mature for a couple of years.

I think the price should have been lower. I remember Arma 3 was actually far below retail price during development on steam and we got the full game upon completion. Bohemia is by their own admission a small developer.

I wonder if Braben has been influenced by Chris Robert's fund raising skills? Do u think that's possible? When your competing company is selling 3d models for $18,000+... That must have some impact on your brain?

During the Kickstarter campaign, Elite could be had for £20. A good price IMHO. Horizons should have cost the same. Then we have SC, which is grabbing more and more cash and media attention while ED is seemingly treated like the red-headed stepchild. This unequal treatment does of course incite desires. So what is the best solution for team ED to also get a good piece of the cake? I don't know, and frankly I don't have to. From a consumer's perspective however, I can only hope the addons they release during 2016 are a whole lot beefier than what we got in 2015, to make up for the steep price of Horizons. I can totally get behind Horizons as an extension to the foundation of the building, but it's time to actually start raising the building.
