Install update: player data

Hi commanders o7

I've just bought a Odyssey Steam key and got troubles with the update .
My drive install don't have enough space to download/install the update .
I tried to transfer the installation folder on another drive but it says that it's not possible because it need to be upgraded ^^
I think the best solution for me is to uninstall Elite and re-install Odyssey directly to limit the amount of data, but I fear to lose my datas.
Steam support don't know how this will finish, and I didn't find an online tool to contact Frontier. Does anyone can tell me tha I can uninstall without any problem?

Wow,
Thank you Deckersolo for the link, I wasn't able to reach this page. On the frontier support page, I 've to select a game and search for the good question. I don't have any "submit request" button o.0

Simply select the issue from the drop down list, I'd go with Elite Dangerous - Technical Issue and then once you do that the rest of the form will appear, along with a Submit button.

Your commander data is held on the servers not your computer so that won't be at risk.

What is on your computer and that you can copy to a safe place in case it gets deleted is your your journals (logs) which are stored under "saved games" plus (more importantly) options (bindings etc), and visitedstars.dat etc. which live in appdata.

So basically copy everything from these locations:

%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous

(The amount of folders involved depends on whether you have more than one account, plus there might be separate "Live" and "Legacy" entries {not sure about that} - copy everything from those links just to be safe.)
