Okay so, I know the stuff peeps are saying these days about the game are pretty bad, but I wanna get back into the game after having not played it for ages. The only thing stopping me from doing that is the installer; When I open the game through Steam, it opens up the Elite thingy as normal. The problem arises when I try to actually install the game. I go to the launch part, select Elite Dangerous: Horizons as I wanna play an online game that has some content, and then it just gets stuck on "Preparing for update". Anyone know what I can do? I payed for this game ages ago and I wanna be able to play it :/

It is a common thing on here to hear from people that the installer sits in that "preparing" state for extended periods. Maybe just leave it to do its thing for a while.

P.S. The game is actually not having too many issues at the moment. Yes there are some annoying bugs but in general the game is just great.

Try disabling the "Virtual Cache" in the Options menu (at the top) in the launcher and restart the launcher.
For them that is. For us, no such thing.
Decide for yourself.

To avoid that battle next update at the end of January you can add the installation location for the single game to WD exclusion list...Thanks for the help peeps, seems like the issue was what Ashnak mentioned.
