Instant agro on 400 CR fine needs to be adjusted.

This is a seriously annoying mechanic in the game. I'm rather new, so maybe that plays some part of this. I've done it like 20-50 times in the 3 weeks i've played. Could you please stop the instant aggro for small crimes of accidentally shooting a round into an unscanned ship or friendly fire. Even better, remove the criminal status from this act if the enemy doesn't take fatal damage. Having to jump out of the system to wait the cool down on the warrant isn't very immersive when the guy you goof-shot just killed 2 miners in front of the same cops.

This is so bafflingly stupid. I absent mindedly fire 1 round at a known criminal before the scan finishes and the cops drop what they are doing to run a train on my little ship while the pirate that just killed 2 people in front of them joins them. lol... NPCs genocide the miners but if you are a PC and misfire one shot you take priority? Can they not write me a warning so I don't get my undies in a knot and make post like this on the forums?

PS posting this cause i'm salty. They instagibbed my powerplant before i could get out of masslock and lost 15 mil in bounties. Makes me want to cry into my pillow.

After a bit of thought... how about this? The NPC cops prioritize targets by bounty value. This would give you time to finish the fight/flee. Then before they go crazy on you it would nice if they give you an option to surrender. For example, they hail your ship with a threat of destruction if you don't submit. (Turn yourself in and you will not be killed) You then can power down and retract hardpoints and submit to a fine on the spot. You could get an additional resist arrest fine too if you flee the scene.

Good idea about the prioritizing, but why are you managing to hit so many ships without scanning them? I have been playing since the start and have more than 25,000 bounties claimed. I have had 2 fines for hitting un-scanned ships during that time and both times managed to escape without being hit by the cops. You just need to have a little bit more patience before pulling the trigger :)

I think the "prioritize targets by bounty", at least for System Authority Vessels and non-pirate NPCs is an excellent idea - would probably go a long way towards making the AI behave in a more believable manner in those circumstances. I suspect the pirates themselves would need to operate on a different rule set - probably some sort of complex "prioritise by degree of threat vs ease of kill" algorithm.

Programming AI behavior can get very complex, though - E.g. it would need to avoid NPCs becoming obsessed with a high-bounty ship while some lower-bounty but actually more dangerous ship is posing a higher threat to them.

Good suggestion, though, IMO.

Oh my god, this again.

Long story short: No. Police need to respond the moment someone shoots someone illegally. You shot a ship that your computer has not cleared for you to engage, therefore, you broke the law, therefore, police will do everything they can to make you pay insurance.

Nothing about this needs to change. Pilots who aren't careful swinging when their knives around need to change. After a few dozen times, you really should have learned this. I'm baffled as to why you're still having a problem.

As far as the priority thing goes, this hasn't been my experience. Sounds like a bug. Also, I believe FD mentioned wanting to get police to hail you down and demand payment on the spot using the inbox system in the comms panel, but I don't know what came of that.

See Spray and pray dose not Pay. Learn to use what in front of you. Shoot when you have a bead on your target. But don't shoot civilians or security. Wait until you have a bounty before shooting.

1 Sound IF you hear a ship coming up on you look at your radar or note your sound it can tell you if they are right or left of you if you use stereo or headset. OR better yet use surround sound system. You can tell if they are behind you to the side or in front of you.

2 Radar. Keep a eye on your radar if you see a ship coming in Hot. STOP SHOOTING.

3 If you see a ship in front of you going in front of the target you are attacking STOP SHOOTING.

4 Wait until that bounty show up before SHOOTING.

Other things that can help. Tracker IR 5 they work great.

I have like 5 Bounties and I never died. 700 Kills and now flying in a Type 9 Until I get my Annie.
