Instant Death after reckless driving out of a starport

I just got my T9 blown up instantly as a Hauler hit me on the way out of the port, My speed was around 100 so i was speeding, but i didnt blow up the hauler or myself, then without any warning i was instantly blown up 2 seconds later and sent to the insurance page. I dont know actually what happened coz i already got fined before many times as i hit some ships on the way out and paid them afterward. Im guessing this is a bug so i did issue a support ticket.

Just wondering if anyone else faced the same situation?

Seems like i hit the ship got 400 fine and then got attacked by the police then got murder stats then blown up.. that doesnt add up. coz i saw the hauler ship at 100% with a bit of damaged shield. Did i get a murder states by being attacked?

Edit: thanks for the logs!

Hmm, did that Hauler die? The logs only show a collision above the speed limit resulting in hull damage. That shouldn't result in lethal response.

So, did it appear that you murdered that Hauler? Because that does often result in punitive action by the station.

No i had the hauler on my rader it was 100% with a bit of damaged shield.. i didnt even have shields so the hit got me down to 99% hull, it was very slow hit i already did it a lot before just paid my fine and went on my way. The attack was so fast it went from 99% to blown up in a second or 2.

From the logs, i got fined THEN got labeled criminal before i got a murder crime type. Which doesnt make sense. I shouldnt have been attacked before i got the murder states

Same yesterdat, got a 'reckless flying' fine and was executed by station. Dont have logs, but will raise a ticket for it, seems like a bug for sure. Pretty glad I forgot to bring crew...

I will post the result of the support ticket here, if it was a bug hopefully ppl who got it can issue a ticket as well.

OP, your lack of shields may be the cause. I don't know how the code was written, but perhaps your hull damage is being conflated with you damaging that Hauler's hull.

Ex, player speeding + involved in collision + hull of at least one ship damage= murder for offending ship.

Hopefully your bug report bears fruit.

Nop only damaged shield of the hauler. Yes the response was just weird to say the least

I have been flying since 3.0 and already hit at least 5 ships including condas and other T9's.. only fined with hull of 95-99%. By the way if you notice the time, from the Criminal response to death is only 2 seconds.

2018-03-02T20:02:14Z to 2018-03-02T20:02:16Z

I think we will see how the report goes. The lost is about 15mil of "cargo, missions and ship" i can cover that so im not that angry about it, i just hope if its a bug it get fixed so i dont have to worry about it happening over and over.

The log says that you murdered Ozzymandias. Note that the events recorded in the log don't always come in a logical sequence.

Yeah, the collision killed the enemy ship. They really should give way to larger vessels. :D

That's not what the logs say...

EDIT: Though the murder does show after the security service were already authorised to attack. Note that it may not have been the immediate collision that killed the hauler - but if a further incident (e.g. with a wall or while landing) removed the remaining hull, then you would be responsible for the death.

Might be worth querying the order of events via a support ticket.

I read elsewhere someone saying they became wanted for speeding "bump" - surely this must be a bug - they can't be making all fines now actually be bounties can they?

OP, was there shooting before station to open fire on you? There is a scenario in Res sites when you shoot wanted ship before scan ends and after that the ship is killed by security ships, you will be considered as a murderer by the game. It could be the same if the Hauler has been wanted.

Op was speeding. Hes says so. That will result in the initial fine. Hauler, for whatever reason, died. So death is attributed to OP. It's the last part that is hard to reconcile, but it is not unique to 3.0.

Note that the cops and station didn't immediately go aggro upon you receiving that fine (there's a >1 second difference), they only did it around the time the victim of the collision died, so it's quite clear to me that it what they were responding to, not your fine. The fact they seemed to start shooting *before* the victim died would be just a quirk of the way the events are written and that in fact the victim's death and the police response were probably all simultaneous (but the log wrote the police response events as the 14th second was about to end, and wrote of the victim's death just as the 15th second had started).

Still I'd bring it up in the journal forum to let hchalkley know.
