instant killed by thargoids while exploreing.

So I have now been surfing around for a few month colecting date scanning planets and stuff, that ended really bad today. I got instercepted between two jump points and got instend killed.
My ship got turned of when he intercepted me, next thing i know boom dead..

While i had no weapons or any cargo this ing thargoid didnt even show up. Just a bunch of small things flying at me and i was dead in under 10 seconds.
Im guesing exploration is not worth it anymore seing that you no longer can travel the universe safly even tho I never had any interaction with the thargoids.

So I just wanted to put it out there for other explores stay away from Pleiades section... unless you want to loose every data collected and not even see whats hitting you..

Im off for a bit, I need to think about this after loosing a few month of collecting data.

ya its dangerous out there for non combatant's steer well clear unless well prepped
the Pleiades section. being a well known old stalking grounds of the critters since first encountered

I was no where close to thargoid war sections.. Belive me I checked every point before going there
Dang.
But you're right, Pleiades has been Thargoid -related as long as we've had Thargoids in the game, and as there's a war going on, everything Thargoid -related (apart from the nonhuman signals that house Thargoid probes and are found everywhere) is best to be avoided if you're not prepared.

also said to be the home section of the tall whites though i havent encounterd the elvish looking entities in game lanky tall albino humanoids though some look just like homo sapians aparently
don't panic always applies though and never forget your towel ;)
son to daddy shark "why dont we go straight in and eat them instead of circling them fins showing first?"
daddy shark to son" cause they taste better with the :poop: scared out of them first!"
the same tactic can be applied to the thargoids species

Depends on what your exploration ship build focus is - but if you're "only" bumbling around in the neighbourhood (yes, nowadays I would consider the Pleiades as "neighbourhood"), a cold fast build that sacrifices the last few ly of jump range for some survivability would have little trouble with Thargoids unless you encounter a Glaive. DBX, Dolphin, Python could fit that bill.
At least several months ago, the summary for Thargoid encounters was:
  • if your ship is cold enough, they can't see you
  • if your ship is fast enough, they can't catch you
  • don't stick around and let them hit you with their shutdown pulse

That may have changed in the meantime, especially for war systems - but in the past, even if the war systems changed, the old stalking grounds (i.e. Pleiades and a few other locations) still had the old behaviour.

The (old) advice for these inter-/hyperdictions was:
  • if your ship is fast enough, point away from the Tharg, boost and drop heatsinks
  • if your ship is not fast enough, boost towards and then past the Tharg and hope they donb't catch you with the shutdown pulse (FA off might help here). The Thargs may be reasonably fast, but they're quite slow to switch to a new vector.

Do the hyperdictions still happen? IIRC back then (when they became a thing) it was an insta-hit with the shutdown field when the normal space instance was created.

Have you still got the session event in your codex, able to pinpont the system?

Months ago I got blown up in a paper exobio ship around the Pleiades, I remember thinking "Oooh, must be one of those old-style friendlyish hyperdictions, haven't seen one of those in ages" before being summarily obliterated. Turns out my route took me through HIP 22460 and the locals were still unhappy about something.

Hey dude I been there I'm not sure how long it's been but I got in your same shoes different death if you go through the hoops and E-mail F-dev they can rollback your death because they are just that swag. I'm sure they won't do that everytime but sometimes it's a massive killer getting pwned by something you couldn't control.

ps 500m/s to run from death flowers unless it's a hunter then you're really pooched :)
