Instead of relevant content we got...

Well considering the absolute barrage of "they don't even have emotes lol WHYYY" complaints they got earlier, they probably think they're reacting to player demand.

I dunno, I'll probably use them too. Be nice to have options other than pointing guns at things for composing screenshots. (Cue a thousand "waving at camera in front of ship" selfies)

Next step: make those bars and chairs working.
1. Add stamina status for pilot. When stamina low, make a blur circle around player vision boundry. When zero, vision become something like onfoot critically damaged effect.
2. To recover stamina, use consumer technology or any drink / food. Using biowaste will directly set stamina to zero. Using alcohol overdose / drug will introduce dizzy effect.
3. Or go to the bar buy some drink, press F on bar to take seat and start drinking.
4. Or go to the station chairs, press F nap in an ugly looking mouth open style like the guy next to you.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 probably.
Plus, JWE, Planet Coaster & Something Zoo cater to a more casual player base and probably easier to program, a basic economy sim shared amongst all 3 games a couple of rides, animals and world park building<?>.

Whereas we want comets, gas giants, better black holes, more stuff in the 400 billion system galaxy, better walking gameplay, at least 2 star light sources, better planet gen, more planet types, hunting, ship internals, more ships & SRVs, liquid worlds (water, ammonia, lava), chairs that work, bars that sell virtual alcohol etc - all of which needs to be inserted into a creaking DX11 engine.

Tho' I don't believe one single player ever asked for more ̶g̶r̶i̶n̶d̶i̶- crafting mini games in the last 7 years.

Emotes demonstrate exactly where this game is headed.

Flimley
Like where is it headed?

Surely by adding emotes, all they have done is listen to the community. Isn't that what people have been clamouring for, for ages now. Personally I don't give a damn about emotes, but if it makes some people happy, that's fine by me.

And the I'm sure they'll be selling some on the store, again, fine by me as it isn't pay to win. It's no different to selling ship skins, which again the community at the time asked for, instead of a subscription model.

I'm unsure how you know exactly where the game is headed by adding some basic emotes.

... emotes! Wow.

I'm so happy. I'm sure the emotes will give me a lot to do while I'm trying to find something remotely interesting in EDO shallow missions and low standards of relevance.

Instead of relevant content we got... Just more combat content.

I would like to see more non-combat content.
Agreed. Still not enough meaningful content for me so I won't buy Odyssey for the time being.

FDev can't win. People clamour for something, the devs actually deliver it, and then they get lambasted for not providing some other thing instead.

When carrier interiors are added I guarantee there will be a load of posts from people who don't have carriers, complaining these interiors add nothing to their game and there should have been some other feature first. (There'll be another load of complaints that the interiors are too small, not varied enough, and the npcs - if any - don't salute and greet cmdrs by name, etc, etc, etc.)

I'm not fussed about emotes and I doubt I'll use them, but they will make a lot of players happy.
