Insurance Claim Filed

In the course of slowly working my way in an 800-lightyear ring around Sol, I was fumbling around with flight-assist off and inadvertently ran into a planet while trying to touch down. At least two Earth-like first-discovered scans, a number of water-worlds, and a fair chunk of credits went up in smoke on one-or-another system in the Praea Euq sector. Guess it's back to mining for a while for me to recover before I venture back out into the black...if I can figure out what all's changed with mining since I was last in the bubble, pre-drones. At least I'll have an SRV next time. And pitch-black paint job.

At least I'd been recording distance data all along for the EDSM...le sigh.

(Side note: debating doing a wipe to keep my insurance claim count to 0; last time I wiped was to reset my 20-credit-fine police record. Ahem.)

My condolences cmdr...it always sucks to lose data.

But one question, what does having an insurance claim matter? It is not a shameful thing...I have quite a few to my name. Just part of the learning curve.

Got to say a massive well done on attitude. [up]

If you wipe your save your in game knowledge will get you back up to a good explorer ship in next to no time. I use a test account to try out different starting scenarios, you can earn thousands just setting your basic discovery scanner up in a fire group. You can mine the asteroid belt in LHS 3447 in a sidewinder (you need about 20k first) - that belt's pristine metallic. Or you can just try your luck with missions.

If you want you can tag ships the system security vessels are taking down in RES's, although exploring and mining seem to be your main focus so may not be for you.

Mining's improved - if you want any advice on that or restarting just ask.

So ... Sorry for your loss but well played on attitude.

Well, it's not like I was halfway across the galaxy or even had all that many systems under my belt--I've plotted a route with about one system per degree, and was just past 225 clockwise from due west of Sol. Need to reinstall EDDiscovery to get a better idea of current state of things. Home system's HIP 93377, Kooi Gateway's spitting distance from a pristine metallic ring.

Shame asteroid belts net zilch for tagging, would be nice to get some extra for completely scanning a system...maybe after they drop in comets?

so very true after 18 hours in game on a second account i am well over 40 million in assets without trying or even grinding. a few CG's and a couple of rare runs and i am in my a spec vulture already.

One thing that would be nice...I know which planet (more or less) I died on, I wonder if my ship's wreckage is out there, my black box with all the exploration data sitting there waiting for someone (ideally me) to find. That would be great.
