Insurance problem - now with constructive idea inside!

Ok guys, there are daily topics about lost millions and how insurance is unfair. Noone wants to dumb down the game and the only arguments is just to suck it up and dont fly what you cannot afford to lose (which is fair and correct).
There are cases when someone lacks just a few thousand credits and has to go sidewinder way (which is understandable sometimes happen and is harsh).
.
I founded a new topic because every constructive idea gets buried under discussion how much do you need for an ASP or something non relevant like that.
.
My proposal to solve this problem and NOT dumb down the game and keep death as very punishing is this:
.
It would be interesting if I might take larger loan than 200k, but have to commit much larger portion of my income until it is repaid (like 90% at a million for example) Then it would be possible to not be in the toilet when I am 2 credits short, but I cannot rely on it because I might easily be in a position when I am making enough for fuel/munitions only until I repay a million (as the worst extreme). If repayment is severe enough, it will not be dumbing the game down and people would still have to think before commiting themselves to such a loan contract which is very punishing.

What I would like to see is the insurance company paying whether or not you can afford to buy back the ship.
Doesn't it make sense ? Since when do insurance companies keep all the money for themselves if you can't buy back the exact same car ?

So you think expecting people to think before committing to a loan contract will work where expecting them to think before leaving dock without enough for their insurance excess doesn't?

What you will get is a bunch of insta-clicking fools complaining that they lost their ship, took out a massive loan, then instantly lost the ship again because the loan took their insurance money.

There is no problem with insurance. Just have enough money to pay it. It's not rocket science.

+1! The only thing I would not object to seeing is a higher loan cap. That way no matter what you could get your BASIC ship back. I also think that if you have an outstanding loan, you cannot borrow more until it is paid off.

To quote the right thinkign from another game.
"If you cant afford to lose it, dont fly it"
"if you still fly it and lose it, you took the risk and lost."

Real world example:

You, as an 18 year old teenager, have a crash in your car. Your insurance company stated a £1,500 excess on your policy, payable in the event of a claim.

Now, as a spotty teen, you've spent all my money on Marvel comics and Domino's Pizza (other brands are available), leaving you without the £1,500 excess that I need for the claim.

What happens?

Yup. Insurance company seizes your car.

I agree that the loan available should be increased... but with that, we're going to get x amount of threads whining that the interest payments are crippling. Then, dirty Loan Consolidation companies will make their way in, and we'll have people pinging us over our fairly rudimentary communication systems, asking 'have you had an accident in the last 6 months'. Endlessly.

Nobody wants that :)

This isn't a suggestion about insurance.

It isn't even a suggestion about ship rebuy.

It's a proposal that the amount of money an unknown benefactor is willing to lend to you be increased. In essence, it's proposing that someone should lend more so a person that has already demonstrated sweeping fiscal mismanagement by needing the loan in the first place.

I would offer a counter-proposal, just remove the loan entirely. This would mean many people will learn the biggest lesson without having committed too many playing hours already. I know some argue against it, but also add a "warning - rebuy cost not covered" when taking off (just in the info panel) would make sure this doesn't happen accidentally.

As i believe it is fine as it is, have to plan what you do, and then do what you plan...

i lost t6 with full cargo, total 4,5 million, only because im usually docking with boost on, my fault, there was t9 going out, so boom and few hours to work it back,

that is not angry birds, or other pegi 3 game, as i said above plan what you do....
