Horizons Insurance Rant

Okay, it had to happen and I admit I screwed up, but......

Having just died in my fully equiped, and partially modded Asp Explorer I am now now flying around LHS 3447 in a basic Sidewinder again. It wouldn't be so bad, but I've got 56 million credits in my account and was just getting ready to buy a new Python outright.

Isn't it obvious, that I really wouldn't have chosen to sacrifice a ship that's worth well over 30 million credits when I have more than enough money to cover the 1.7 million insurance costs?

As far as I'm concerned, it's way too easy to click the wrong tick box when you've died and lose everything you've invested in. Let's face it, your mood and concentartion isn't going to be great after losing ur ship in battle anyway is it?

I accept that this is Elite 'Dangerous' and not Elite 'Slightly Risky' and most of the time I'll roll with the punches, but losing everything to a mistake on an insurance form is too 'below the belt' even for me.

What's more, I've read that countless other players have done exactly the same thing as myself and it's more than a little annoying.

Frontier, whilst it's great you're introducing new content, you do really have to start improving this basic game features such as this before you do anything else !!

Frankly, I don't know what to do now? I'm really quite frustrated.
