Newcomer / Intro Insurance

I don't understand.

I died. It ask me if I want pay for all these list. Then, I was asked Load Old Loadout? I hit cancel because I want all the part. The insurance is suppose to pay for it instead left me with an empty ship.

Can someone explain how that work and why it give me nothing in the ship?

Update:

I got everything but in my free Freagle, the insurance didn't give me all my stuff back that was in the Eagle when I got blown up. Confusing indeed.

You should've selected "Old Loadout". I'm not sure what would happen if you died again though - i.e. if it will let you choose the free Sidewinder again fully stocked or if you'll be stuck with an empty ship. If all else fails, you can always clear your save from the main menu and start over.

I did select it but got just Eagle with nothing in it.

What happen when I click on Declare Bankruptcy and to clear Data, how do I do that?

You have to do it from the main menu. I think it's under Options but I'm at work right now and can't verify this. This will of course cause you to start over from scratch.

No problem. Thank you. I'll use it if I want to start over.

I am still going to wait for explaination for why Eagle get empty when insurance is claimed via Load Old Loadout. Does load old loadout might be the fact that "none exist" because it was given free? Bear in mind, I upgraded the powerplant and power coupler.

No, you should have received all of your equipment back as well. Essentially you should be in the same ship with the same load out as when you died, just with less money. I THINK under Load Old Loadout, there's optional selections for your equipment as well (at least it used to be that way, I haven't died since Gamma *knock on wood*). Perhaps those were accidentally unselected?

Clear Save: in the main menu, go to the options when you configure graphics and audio. "Clear Save" is listed. This will clear everything and set you back to the basic start (with the free Eagle if you have that, but otherwise everything is gone).

When you die, you get two options:
A basic sidewinder: you respawn in a basic sidewinder in, I think, the system you started in. Doesn't cost anything, but you use whatever was on the ship you were in.

Or, you choose your old load out. There are a bunch of checkboxes if you don't want to pay for a particular module, but by default they're all checked. It sounds like you canceled the old loadout and went with the stock version of the ship, which was the opposite of the choice you intended to make.

This says you hit cancel when asked if you wanted your old loadout - your old loadout being all the parts you had bought and equipped it with. If you hit cancel, as it says, you were asking for the ship with a default loadout, and not the old loadout you had kitted it with (some may want this, to save on insurance costs, to save on getting a loan, or because they flat out can't get a loan for the cost of their old loadout.)
