Integrate FSS with hud/cockpit?

One thing I would love to see in future updates is an integrated FSS. Wouldn't it be cool if the FSS screen had a place in the cockpit like the other menu panels? Maybe some kind of a periscope apparatus could descend in front your holo-me, or maybe something as simple as its own panel, projected in front of the cmdr?

Yeah that too. All bodies should still show up as 'unexplored' in the nav panel after a honk for those who still want to do it the old way. (Sometimes it shows up, I think only if its been discovered by someone already or something).

And that would ruin the FSS for me, so that would be a big no from me.

As to having it in the cockpit, yes that would be good, but understand why they have done it like it is.
 
Just think of the FSS as you looking into the spock-o-scope.

If the FSS were integrated with the cockpit, after the recent outburst of incompetence FD calls a patch, we might now have a non working cockpit.

What's even more bizarre is that I don't think they even did anything to the FSS. It just shows that anything can cause a bug to something even when it's not related to it. One reason why I don't want the ADS put back in. More bugs, more time lost of other things that need doing.

How would showing an unexplored body in the nav panel ruin the FSS? Its a separate screen and would just give the option of flying to it and scanning manually. It kind of already works that way, some bodies show up as unexplored if a system is already discovered (or something? not exactly sure why some show up and some don't) and flying up to it resolves it just like the FSS does.

The whole idea is to find these bodies yourself in the FSS. What's the point in finding them all over again when you know their pinpoint locations. For me, it would destroy the whole purpose of the FSS.
