integrity of the environment of the fleet carriers and stations

I want the integrity of the environment of the fleet carriers and stations. Why, when docked at 1 platform or for example at 10, the character seems to be teleported to the elevator going down to the hangar. I want the fleet carrier to have, for example, a moving walkway, inside the fleet carrier, in the center between the platforms. So that from the 10th platform the character would go to the living compartment, and not teleport when descending to the hangar.

A fleet carrier is something like 2 or 3 km long. You don't want a moving walkway. You don't even want an actual turbolift. The instalifts are fine.
what do you do in this game then? do the same tasks and grind? or still enjoy the immersion in the game.

Surely not walk two kilometers and back every time. Immersion doesn't equal forcing a pointless waste of time.
X4 has walkways, actual elevators, docking platforms several hundred meters wide. And also a very practical shift+D shortcut to teleport from everywhere back to your ship. Guess why?

I don’t even enjoy the walk from my
Corvette to the elevators…. My avatar seems to be in poor shape and can’t even sustain running that far. Imagine traversing the length of the fleet carrier, we’d need rest stops along the way. I could see adjusting the lift travel time slightly though for where you are docked, and maybe have a window so could see it move perhaps.

We'd need benches, or actually, why not airport buses? TBH, docking tubes would be better than having to schlep across acres of hangar

I don't have an issue with the lifts all taking the same time no matter the distance, and the logic behind where the Cmdr ends up being pushed to if they don't step out of the lift manually seems okay to me too.

Something I like about the carrier lifts is that they are all to the side rather than at the back of the dock as some station lifts are, making the walk/sprint to/from the ship more reasonable for all ships. Having lifts at the rear of the hanger can be a chore for ships like the Corvette, Cutter & other large & medium ships with their entry at the front & moving them all to one side or the other would be good for me. On a carrier the elevators being always closer to the centre of the carrier rather than always to starboard would be good.

Having the option to take a bus or similar that travels past the docking pads might be good for immersion once or twice but would quickly become a chore, in that respect I think the walk from ship to elevator giving a sense of scale to the ships but then the elevator 'teleporting' the player from dock to social area is a good compromise between immersion and gameplay. I'd like to see more random NPC activity in the docks (loading vehicles, covers & pipes in different positions etc).

I wish FDev had determined the length of the Cmdrs sprint ability by the furthest point from ship egress to elevator doors. Running out of puff two thirds of the length of your Cutter is far too much like real life for my tastes.

I agree that having a limit to sprint distance doesn't add anything to the dock walking experience.

I don't mind a limit to sprint distance in itself, it just seems to me a good way to measure the base distance would be to cover the maximum distance of the most menial and pointless task that is repeated most often - moving from your ships blue zone thing to the elevators. Sprinting from one side of a large base to another would be silly, not being able to complete the most basic movements in one sprint becomes as irritating as walking the 2km of a Carriers length.

I haven't seen anyone else mention it though so I'm guessing the majority aren't bothered by it, it's nice to know at least one of you agrees to some extent :)

Either that or an auto-walk assist feature for your suit (like super cruise assist but for walking) so you can set it up and go get a cup of tea while your commander makes the journey.

This is the reason the cities in SC are all empty. After originally spawning there and taking ages to get to the spaceport and their first ship, everyone immediately changes their spawn point to one of the space stations. Those sorts of environments are for touristing, but anyone wanting to actually play the game avoids them as much as possible. It seems a lot of work for a feature that 99.9% players will probably only use once.
